One sweltering hot day, when the
summer heat of Florida made you
not want to go outside, Christina
Colon had a light bulb turn on above
her head.
“That‟s it! I will start a
lemonade stand, I‟ll be giving goods
and services to thirsty, dehydrated
consumers. Of course, I, the
Lemonade Producer, will make a
great profit…I hope!” I said
laughing evilly in my brothers room
(the only room with an A/C.)
3. “Yo, you being an Entrepreneur
or something?” asked my
brother, Stephen, sarcastically.
“Actually, Yes, I am.” I replied
truthfully, even though I knew his
question was sarcastic, I also, did
not make any comment on his
miss pronunciation of
Entrepreneur (He said Enter-per-
newer when it‟s really On-tray-p-
newer.)
I was packing up my „Capital
Resources‟ that included:
Lemonade Powder, A Big spoon to
mix with, and Cups I found in our
4. I noticed I was running low on lemonade
powder so, I took my life savings of $59.32
and walked to the dollar store, each can
was $1.07 with tax. I figured I would buy 8
cans because the store sold the small size
cans. My total investment was $8.56. I
packed it up in my sack and sprinted all the
way home. I set up a table, with a chair, and
an umbrella for shade.
I went inside to mix a natural resource of
water with my lemonade powder in a
pitcher, stirred, then poured into cups and
placed 2 ice cubes in each cup. Each pitcher
made 40 large size cups filled halfway. I
refilled the 2 huge ice cube trays to and put
them in the freezer.
5. I got a poster board and quickly
wrote in big, nice letters:
LEMONADE
75 cents, Refill 25 cents
I taped it to my table and went
back in slowly stepped out taking
baby steps because I had to keep
my tray of 40 cups steady! I set
up and made everything
pretty, checking the time 11:08
am…”I think I‟m doomed”.
6. I ended my Lemonade Stand at 4
in the afternoon making a total of
$48.73 and had only used 2 of
my small cans! I added that to
my life savings to get a total of
$99.49.
