2. Women gained legal rights in the 19th century, in the United States, Canada, and many other countries. Women have, historically, held less economic and political power compared to men. One of the turning points in the women's rights movement occurred when voting rights became widespread in western Europe and North American democracies. Women’s Rights

3. In Sub-Saharan Africa, women are treated as minors culturally (if not legally) , with little or no rights to manage or inherit properties. In Saudia-Arabia most women are not allowed to drive or obtain properties. Africa and Saudia-Arabia

4. Femicide is the killing of only women by their partners or husbands. Intimate Femicide is the killing of only of women by a husband, boyfriend, or other close male associate. Femicide on the Rise

5. South Africa has the highest rate of murder of women by domestic partners and husbands in the world. In the last policy brief released by the Medical research Council (MRC) in 2004, it was revealed that in South Africa a woman is killed by her intimate partner every 6 hours. Femicide

6. The term feminism means advocacy for the well-being of women in both theoretical and political ways. Feminism and Race

7. American Feminists refer to their history as comprising three waves. First wave [1790-1920] – when feminism overtly excluded women of color. Second Wave [1950-1980] addresses social division among women based on race. And the third wave [after 1980] remains credible as a movement for all women. History of Feminism

8. Nigeria is the country that has least improved. Having 46% less equality and 0% change. Mexico has improved the most. Having 87% more equality and 5% less. Increasing Equality for Women

9. To raise awareness to the world about Women’s Rights, I would make a TV commercial, and interview elderly women, then younger women to see how it has changed overtime, and ask their opinions to what we should do to help this issue. Raise Awareness
