The biggest challenge of the century is global warming.
It isn’t something new, just a familiar statement to everyone of us. But the
effects of this problem are just about to wake up our wandering minds.
Imagine our world where apocalyptic hurricanes, catastrophic earthquakes,
floods, fires and epidemics are prevailing. Some may say that these are just
exaggeration. Well, THINK TWICE. We can do nothing when these disasters
came up one day. But we can change it. We can save the Earth from the
harms of environment, caused by people.

The Earth is a place of beauty, and we are stewards of God’s creation. So
now, what do you have to say? And what can you do?
20th century: The Earth’s sea level had increased about 1.5-3.0 mm
per year
And it will increase more rapidly this 21st century
As the sea level increases, the landmass we are living in are just
about to submerged in water
Increased precipitation all over the globe
The Earth is a priceless creation
Not everything in the world is replaceable
3000 trillion pounds
LIFE is simply precious
2011 is the 5th annual ED
34 megawatt hour of electricity saved
  Philippines – top participant EH2011
“Switching off your lights is a VOTE for Earth, or leaving
them on is a vote for global warming."
Use compact fluorescent light bulbs
Burn calories, not oil. Use unleaded fuel.
Plug off appliances when not in use.
Look for the Energy Star
Rain is a normal way of returning water back to Earth
965-4064 mm of rain is Philippines’ average annual rainfall
79-265 deaths per year because of heavy rain and floods
0.2 degrees per decade increase in temperature means 10%
       increase in precipitation

Sympathy to the victims of the flood and heavy
rains caused by the two consecutive typhoons.
If You Care Enough
    For The Living
 Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place...
“There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not
for man's greed” - Mahatma Gandhi

“Don't blow it - good planets are hard to find.”

“Get what you need, and not what you want.”
3.9 billion ha of forests, of which 95 per cent are natural forests and
5 per cent are forest plantations - UN Food & Agri Org
Value of the illegal trade is $10-$15 billion per year – World Bank
1998 - gross production of timber $160 billion worldwide
  2020 projection - $299 billion
Eat your vegetables – less food processing is one man’s lifetime
Drive Less, Drive Smart – a day of commuting is a year less GHG
GO for a Recharge – a disposable battery is a tank of danger
Seek the TWILIGHT Ozone – use CFC free products
A Brush for Nature – paint your walls with Nox –out latex
Spread the Word – you can do nothing better than spread the good
news
“Blue marble in space
spinning its face to the sun
                            irreplaceable”

The Earth is the only known living planet
Human would hardly be surviving in Mars due to its iron oxide surface
We’ll be dead just as we land on Venus from its toxic CO2 and hot
atmosphere
NOW THIS IS THE TIME TO THINK TWICE.
             Ask yourself.
          Decide for yourself.
           Lead for yourself
You’ve lived on Planet Earth all your life, but
how much do you really know about the
ground where your feet is standing?

Earth is just like a living organism
The largest of mountains are deep beneath the ocean
The Earth’s plates move just as fast your fingernails grow
Without greenhouse gases, temperature would be -18 C
When the moon explodes, the Earth’s tilt will not stabilize
The Sun isn’t the only source of Earth’s heat
“Nature is painting for us, day after
day, pictures of infinite beauty.”

“We believe in God, thus call it Nature.”
Is nature a thing from past or an inheritance for the future?

What, if anything, prevents you from recycling?

Who should be responsible for the devastation of nature?

As a student and as a journalist, in simplest way, how can you

save Mother Earth?

We hope that this presentation be a guide for future
supporters and concerns for Mother Earth 
