Chris Cunningham's Obscure Filmmaking Inspired by Andy Huang
1. Chris Cunningham
Chris Cunninghamis a film maker and director for music artist such as Bjork; he
is famous for his unique creativity and obscurity, his love for extra-terrestrial
looking characters. ‘Cometo daddy’ is a film created by Cunningham, in this
shortfilm is looks as if a figure in the TV has brainwashed young children,
corrupting their lifestyle and ruining their faces. The children’s faces in the
video are blurred, the look as if they don’thave eyes, their noses aredeformed
(along with their bodies.). https://youtu.be/Pe-XNav5mWU
I wonder why Cunninghamlikes to create these weird characters for video or
how people take inspiration from his videos. Whilst doing someresearch I
found a video that may have inspired Cunningham’s obscurecreativemind-set
(or the other way around, may of inspired Huang’s film work). This is a film by a
film artist called Andy Huang. This video has had a lot of editing and graphical
work doneto it, to make it look the way it does. In the film, you can see a
mechanical head that’s looks like a dolls face, in a box, looking at a screen. This
gives me the idea that this film was created to show a mechanical society?
Made up of materialistic things, that we are all robots in society.

Cunningham’s films are created with a cheap budget, making him more of an
artist for people to love as his work doesn’tneed money to become something
that is known in the world of media, art and music.
