Western Disturbance brings winter and pre-
monsoon rain and is important for the
development of the Rabi crop in the Northern
subcontinent ( Example- Wheat )
 In the absence of moisture, the strong
upward movement of air would only carry
dust and cause dust storms.

4. Cause of Dust Storm in Rajasthan
1. Western Disturbance- Moisture from
Eurasian water bodies.
2. Unusually high temperature near Rajasthan
around 46oC to 48oC (Low Pressure)
3. Cyclonic Circulation(L.P)- Upward movement
of moisture carrying warm air having
thunderstorms and was pre-dominant over
Haryana had triggered the deadly dust storm
having speed more than 100Km/hr.
