the population from
23 million in 1715 to

subsistence crisis
occurred. Due to it,
the price of breads
rose rapidly.

7. 14th July, 1789
On 14 July 1789, a state
prison on the east side of
Paris, known as
the Bastille, was attacked
by an angry and
aggressive mob. The
prison had become a
symbol of the monarchy's
dictatorial rule.

On 26 August 1789, the
French National
Constituent Assembly
issued the “Declaration
of the Rights of Man
and the Citizen” which
defined individual and
collective rights at the
time of the French
Revolution.

Louis XVI was forted
by women in
Versailles
A huge mob of up to 7000
working women marched from
Paris to Versailles in search of
bread. They were tired of the
king and royal family’s neglect.
The women were armed and
dangerous, focused on Marie
Antoinette, they broke into the
palace and took the King Louis
XVI and Marie Antoinette
prisoners , leaving with supplies
, bread and other important
things from the storage of the
palace .
12. 5th September , 1793
Reign Of Terror
The Reign of Terror began on
September 5, 1793 with a
declaration by Robespierre that
Terror would be "the order of
the day."The Reign of Terror was
a dark and violent period of time
during the French Revolution.
Radicals took control of the
revolutionary government. They
arrested and executed anyone
who they suspected might not
be loyal to the revolution.
