24. biography:
Catherine Iskiw
â The best designs are often the simplest. If I can achieve elegance in a very clean design then I know
that I have created something special.â
My straightforward jewelry is inspired by clarity of design and the simplicity of pure geometric forms.
Materials range from platinum and diamonds to silver and semi-precious stones. Itâs the form and
function that matter most to me.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada, I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1984 with
a bachelorâs degree in interior design. Soon after, I relocated to New York. During a ten-year career
designing corporate interiors in Manhattan, I returned to an earlier interest in jewelry design as a more
personal means of expression. After taking classes at Parsonâs and the Fashion Institute of Technology in
New York, I ofïŹcially launched my business in 1996 in the New Designer Gallery at the JA Show in New
York.
