2. Task: Choose your own revolution
BE CREATIVE! My instructions are purposely vague because I
want you to brainstorm different ways to present your
information.
Your task is to explore the idea of “revolution”. Make sure that
the focus of your research is proving your case study is “a time
of change.”
You must consult with me before beginning your research
and get approval.
POSSIBLE OPTIONS:
Xinhai Chinese Revolution 1911
Spanish Revolution 1936
Cuban Revolution 1952
Chinese Revolution 1949
Iranian Revolution 1979
1968 – the year of Revolution

*This task is not limited to these options – you may choose your
own independent study research project. I encourage you to
explore other options but you must have these approved prior to
beginning the task.
Multimedia Art Presentation – Portraits of the Revolution
Use images and portraits to create a multimedia art exhibit
the key figures in the your chosen revolution. Provide a brief
biography of each historical figure. You may also want to
include paintings of revolutionary scenes by important
3. revolution-era artists. Remember to cite your sources for all
images.
Illustrated Map & Timeline - Mapping the Events of the
Revolution
Use the Internet to identify 5–10 sites that played important
roles in the revolution. For example, the French Revolution
would have the Bastille, Place de la Révolution/Place de la
Concorde, and the Versailles palace. Download either a
contemporary map or a map from the time.
Label the map to indicate the historic sites and, wherever
possible, the dates of major events that took place at each
location. Write a brief description that explains the
importance of the site.
Create an interactive timeline of the Revolution, with an
overview of key events
Press Conference– Radical Thinkers of the Revolution
Write and deliver a speech that might have appeared at a
meeting or press conference during the Revolution. Your
speech should express a strong opinion and your
knowledge of the main ideas of the revolutionary movement
that you have chosen. Take a clear position in your writing
and support that position with references to the policies of
the revolutionary group. You could also incorporate an attack
on the ideas of those who were seen as enemies of the
Revolution. You should submit your task as an mp4 video
file.
