WORK HISTORY
1987 to 1994
I was a professional sculptor. Starting after college with a commission from the boy scouts for a totempole. I carved more
totem poles and attended the larger nationally juried art shows
1994 to 2014
In 1994 I moved from Alton IL to Annapolis MD.
I first worked for a custom piano company located in downtown Annapolis. I designed and fabricated components and details for
a line of art-case pianos, re-styling the legs, trim, fall-board and music rack. my job also included overseeing all aspects of the as-
sembly and finishes. The company closed.
I was fortunate to spend my second year on the coast working for an exhibit company called Hargrove, a huge exhibit
company in Latium MD. Mr Hargrove hired me personally and I worked directly for him as a sculptor. We refurbished older floats
and built new ones from scratch for televised parades. The highlight was creating a 70‘ long locomotive covered with fake fur.
At the end of 1996 I moved to the Philadelphia area and I met my friend John Dorety. John had an amazing store with 4
floors of architectural salvage; hundreds of historic mantels, raised paneling, doors, windows and columns and exterior trim. I
began to mend, reproduce, and refashion his menagerie for use in restaurants and private homes. I made other connections and
opened my own shop. I designed and fabricated expensive one of a kind cabinets. I built many unique components for commercial
shops and contractors.
In Moorestown NJ, I spent 18 months working with the owners to build a 11,000 sq ft private residence. After doing the
original layout and designs for the kitchen addition and a pool house, I stayed on to build many of the cabinets and features. Be-
fore we were done we had added covered walkways, a chapel and a lot of stained glass. The scale was impressive with the kitchen
having a 22‘ ceiling.
A few times I took jobs with larger companies. For Prime Design I spent 8 months as production director. This included
reorganizing how work flowed though the shop and acting as project manager for large bank interiors from Philadelphia to Man-
hattan. At Rockford Cabinets I spent 10 months as the shop manager as it changed ownership. I spent a year with Scholtz Millwork
building curved laminate desks and commercial components. For Seaboard Development I managed the restoration of a beautiful
historic bank.
After 20 years on the east coast I was ready for change, I closed my shop at the end of 2013 and May 2014 , I moved
home to Missouri. Most recently I worked as a project manager for a specialized millwork company in Arkansas that builds gun
and trophy rooms for wealthy hunters.

I am a professional and master craftsman in an emerging area of
expertise. I bridge the chasm between Artisan and Contractor and
Designer. Equally experienced in these disciplines, I can hear and
speak effectively when the creative intent of the Architect or that
of the Artisan is required to work with sticks, bricks and a General
contractor. I have served as mediator, strategist and hands on
tradesman as required.
