Quick Overview of Why Collaborate 2015
Objectives we had for first building this thing. 3 primary design principles:
1) java-free web conferencing experience;
2) improve audio/video quality of app share and
3) improve the teaching & learning experience & optimizing
Built this to run within context of browser, leveraging webRTC framework technology
gave us opportunity to re-think user workflows
Taken together - This next version of collaborate has an enormous scope, but also holds enormous promise - it will deliver high-definition video, an intuitive browser-based user experience, and unrivaled accessibility. It is a fully redesigned, high quality web conferencing application that runs in the browser. It’s primary goals:
• Simple to access and worry-free: In-browser with nothing to install
* High quality media for a more personal and frankly, more engaging experience
• Delightful, redesigned user experience focused on education. Easier to use for beginners, and more modular and flexible in what presents and how, for more personalization and customization.
• A foundation for rapid, sustained growth - this platform will result in a much faster pace of innovation for incorporating new features and responding to customer feedback.
