termination processes. Mentored and coached new hires and less experienced DBAs to increase knowledge and skill level,
helped establish personnel goals. Guided a team of Oracle DBAs that engineered and built an Oracle environment from zero
databases to over 30 Oracle RAC clusters combined with 20 single servers supporting over 70 database instances and
managing over 70TB of data with a growth rate of 2+ TB a month in 7 data centers, worldwide.
Communicator/ Mentor: Advisor to junior DBAs, providing assistance to increase skill set and experience. Created a system
to enhance inter-team communication and project oversight. History of bringing an understanding of databases and relational
theory to the customer, developers, and junior DBAs utilizing strong interpersonal skills and communication ability (both verbal
and written).
Process Improvement/Efficiency: Managed procurement project saving company over $13 Million by reducing development
environment refreshes from 5 days to less than 1 hour wait time. Reducing storage from 60TB to 6TB.
Customer Oriented: Consistently show a commitment to quality, results, and focus on customer. Results are met by listening
to the customer and using skilled analysis to discover the sources of problems quickly and determining appropriate solutions
by developing/comparing alternatives, selecting the best course of action and evaluating the outcome to verify customer needs
are met.

Primarily provided Oracle DBA support in various capacities, including customer facing DBA services as well as providing
support to the Rackspace internal DBA team. Provided Disaster Recovery Professional Services/consulting for customer
facing projects as well as the overall portfolio of all Disaster Recovery projects including design, implementation, and support
of DR solutions. Developed and maintained standards and procedures for SOX control regulations; maintained 0% SOX
failure rate across 4 years for 54 DBA related SOX controls.
DBA Responsibilities:
• Installed, configured, and maintained Oracle 11g and 12c RAC and single node databases on RHEL 5 and RHEL 6,
and upgraded grid infrastructure and database from 11g to 12c.
• Installed, configured, and maintained Oracle 12c multitenant databases.
• Applied security patches, critical and patchset updates via runInstaller and perl based utility opatch.
• Performance tuning of the database using explain plan, AWR, ADDM, tuning of SGA.
• ASM implementation, and maintenance via sqlplus as well as asmcmd.
• Excellent knowledge of srvctl, crsctl, ocrdump, ocrcheck, and ocrconfig utilities.
2. • Review DevOps release related code prior to Production implementation; recommend changes to code based on
performance impact/execution plan.
• Refreshing non-Production instances via export/import.
• Shell scripting and PL/SQL programming to address business/monitoring issues as needed.
• Rebuilding of indexes; maintenance and review of statistics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify root causes, resolve problems, and design/implement preventative
solutions related to application and systems functionality.

home, oracle home, oracle sid, log file location, etc). This was used to push out various administrative activities in an
automated fashion to a large number of targets without manual intervention.
• Implemented out of band monitoring for 12c Cloud Control environment (monitoring the monitor functionality).
