2. Robbie Williams- In and out of consciousness
greatest hits of 1990-2010
I like this digipack because its simple and easy to
read. It follows the codes and conventions of a
digipack by having the name of the artist and album
clearly written on the front of the didgipak, this
makes it easy to spot on the shelves. It also follows
the codes and conventions by having the traditional
trademark sign of the artist or just a image of the
artist. Moreover it also follows the theme of
water/waves and the colour throughout the digipack,
which I like because it ties the whole digipack
together. The inside reflects the title of the album as
it is just a mixture of pictures throughout his time
being a singer from 1990-2010. The digipack also
reflects Robbie's genre of music which is pop/rock in
both the images and the colours.
Overall I think this digipack works well as it is simple but
effective. It also clear and easy to read both the title
and track and continues with a good housestyle
throughout the digipack. I also like the insert/sleeve
with the all the photos in as it makes it more interesting
3. ACDC-Back in Black
I like this digipack as it is simple but looks professional, it
also matches the genre of music
which is rock/metal as the whole digipack is black and
white. I like the contrast between the black and white as it
makes it stand out, it also makes the track names easy to
read. The digipack does not follow the codes and
conventions when It comes to having the main artist/band
on the front, however they do have there traditional
lighting bolt which is their trade mark sign. The digipack
has a strong housestyle which is continued throughout
the digipack. The inside of the digipack shows images of
the band however they are not recent images, this is
linked to the media not wanting to see old people on the
cd or any type of media. Therefore ACDC have used
images from when they were young. Moreover by not
putting an image of the band on the front cover it is going
against the codes and conventions which makes it
different from other digipaks and makes it stand out. The
digipack also follows the codes and conventions of having
credits, comments and thanks/acknowledgements in the
digipack, this gives the audience a little more insight and
knowledge of the band.
Overall I like this digipack and think it works well because of
how simple but effective it is. It also creates a good houestyle
for the band and follows the codes and conventions well.
4. The Eagles- Long Road
Out Of Eden
This digipack is really simple but looks
professional. There is a good clear housestyle
throughout the digipack and the name of the
band and album is clear and easy to read. I like
the simplicity of the colours and images used in
the digipack because it reflects their genre of
music and clearly shows that the music is going
to be calm. They have gone against the tradition
of having the main artist/band shown clearly on
the cover, instead they have gone for having an
image of them walking away. I think this is
effective because it goes against the traditional
codes and convention of a digipack and that
makes it stand out. Moreover it is linked to the
media not wanting old people on media
products because that is not what people want
to see.
