MARNE TAX CENTER TAX TIP OF THE WEEK:
Come to the Marne Tax Center with ALL statements of income for the 2012 tax year. This includes not only
your W-2 from DFAS, but also other statements of income from any financial institutions. Think about it this
way: if you increased your wealth in ANY WAY during 2012, then you need a statement from that source of
wealth indicating the amount you accumulated. The Marne Tax Center is located on Ft. Stewart at 1791 Gulick
Ave (next to Popeye's) and can be reached at (912) 767-1040, and on Hunter Army Airfield at 638 Horace
Emmet Wilson Blvd and can be reached at (912) 315-3675. The Tax Center opens on January 30. We look

WEEKEND WATER OUTAGE!!!
There will be a domestic water outage at Bldg 632 and most of the entire 600 Block Saturday, from 9:00 am to
2:00pm. This outage is necessary to install a back flow preventer. Unit HQs, Orderly Rooms AND 600 block
barracks may possibly be affected. POC is Jim Shurling at 912-320-0472.
WATER OUTAGES:
Monday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., there will be a domestic water outage for building 516 to tie in the hot water
return and also one for building 715 to install a diverter valve; Tuesday, in the entire 7100 Area of Post
Housing, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in order to tie-in to an existing 12 inch water main for the new Elementary School.
Housing occupants need to plan accordingly; POC is Jim Shurling at 912-320-0472.
CLUB NIGHT AT ROCKY’S FEATURES LIVE SALSA BAND, Saturday:
Club Night, featuring Sal Pal Son salsa band, will be held from 9 p.m. -1 a.m. Saturday at Rocky’s Zone, Bldg.
703. Prize given to best-dressed Soldier or guest in Latin attire. Cost is $5 per person. Drink specials, snacks

AEROBIC-THON & HEALTH FAIR, Saturday:
Aerobic-Thon Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Tominac Fitness Center, Bldg. 919 will showcase aerobic classes
taught by certified instructors. Styles include kick-boxing, step, Zumba, and more. Health Fair portion features
nutrition consultation, body composition testing, blood pressure and blood glucose screenings and personal
trainer. Active Duty Soldiers, Family Members, Retirees, Army Civilians and civilian guests invited to take

NEW HOURS OF OPERATION AT STEWART FITNESS CENTERS, Monday:
New hours of operation will take effect Monday at Newman, Caro and Jordan fitness centers on Fort Stewart.
Effective on that date, Newman will extend its hours until 9 p.m. Monday-Friday; Caro will open at 5 a.m.
Monday-Friday; and Jordan will be closed on weekends. 4 IBCT Fitness Center is not affected by the changes.

2. FITNESS CENTERS TO STOP PROVIDING WORK-OUT TOWELS, Feb. 1:
Family and MWR’s fitness facilities at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will stop providing work-out
towels for its patrons beginning Feb. 1. Although an inconvenience for customers, the change will result in a
reduction in water consumption that will significantly contribute to overall Stewart/Hunter conservation goals,
and cost savings that will allow basic programming and customer service to be maintained or increased at each
center.
SUPERBOWL XLVII AT ROCKY’S ZONE INCLUDES FOOD, GIVEAWAYS, LIVE BROADCAST
Feb. 3:

DESIGNATED UNIT SECURITY MANAGERS COURSE AVAILABLE:
IAW FORSCOM Supplement 1 to 380-5, referencing Designated Unit Security Managers, each
battalion/activity is required to appoint a DUSM on orders. The DPTMS Security Division SETA Branch
conducts a 40 hour Security Managers Course (SMC) to prepare individuals to take on the role of DUSM. The
next course is schedule for 11-15 Feb. Training will be held in the Fort Stewart Ed Center, Bldg 100 room 243.

NCO AND SOLIDER OF THE QUARTER:
The Deputy Commanding General-Rear and the Senior Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd Infantry Division
would like to congratulate the winners of the 3rd Infantry Division Non-Commissioned Officer and Soldier of
the Quarter Board for the 4th Quarter, FY13. Sergeant Micah E. Chabo, Charlie Company, 3rd BSB, 1ABCT,
was selected as the NCO of the Quarter and Specialist Nancy J. Cardoza, 473rd Quartermaster Company, 3rd
Sustainment Brigade, was selected as the Soldier of the Quarter. If you see these outstanding Soldiers,

OATLAND ISLAND CAMPING:
