4. Primary Education
Secondary Education
Professional
Skills
Summing it up: Education in the future is likely to be more customized and choice-driven.
This will likely create a race of free-thinkers, who will work across a wider array of
professions.
Neighborhood Learning Centers - smaller than current schools, closer to
learners' homes, alternate teaching methodologies ( rather,
what is considered alternate today).
Primary education will be more accessible to people through the
internet and other smart devices.
More customized offerings will exist at secondary school level, so that students
can get an early start on their professions of choice.
Education will move over completely to the digital sphere – textbooks and copy-books will
have become a thing of the past.
The city of the future will have professions that do not exist today, that may be beyond our imagination even.
Technology will be an integral part of all professional fields, and hence technology as a skill will be valued more and
more.
Cross-cultural student forums and learning forums will assume even greater significance.
The emphasis would be more on practicum than theory.
Social Intelligence, Cross -Cultural Competency , Trans-disciplinary Leadership and Computational thinking are
likely to be some of the most-valued skills of the future.

Power
• Sustainable shale gas usage , Solar Power, and energy recovered from waste would generate sufficient power to meet the needs of the population.
•Energy efficient buildings, LED lights, Energy Harvesting and Advanced Batteries & Storage devices will enable the city to save the limited energy resources
generated.
Transport

9. THE UTOPIAN IDEAL
My vision of the future may seem rather Utopian and negligent
of the consequences of current problems afflicting the world.
However, it is the citizens of today who have to lay the
foundation for this magnificent city of the future. I believe that a
very optimistic vision is beneficial, even necessary, for us to start
building this beautiful city of the future.
