Types of institutions in
Pakistan
Government schools:
 It is very disheartening to mention that the
government school teachers are not imparting
good education to the students. Unfortunately the
government school teachers are present on one
day i.e salary day. Government has taken notice
on the progress of government schools and its
staff. The backward areas are still neglected by
the government. Hopefully it will be better soon.
Private schools:
 To teach their children the necessary skills for
an ever changing world, many parents are
choosing private schools education. One of
the accepted benefits of the private schools is
that they provide exceptional and challenging
educational experiences through extra
curricular activities.
Madrassas:
 A typical islamic school offers two
courses to study i.e a hifz course
teaching memorization of the Quran(the
person who commits to the memorize
the entire Quran is called Hafiz); and an
Aalim course leading the candidate to
become an accepted scholar in
community.
Types of institutes in
Singapore:
International and private schools:
 Singapore is host to many international schools. International
and private schools in Singapore generally do not admit
Singapore students without permission from the Ministry of
Education.
However on 29 April 2004, the ministry of education permitted
three international schools to be set up without permission being
needed to admit by Singapore students. These schools must
follow the compulsory policies set by the Ministry of Education
such as playing the national Anthem and taking the pledge
every morning, as well as following the nation’s policies on
bilingualism.
Madrasahs:
 In Singapore , madrasahs are full
time, religious institutions that offer a
pedagogical mix of islamic religious
education and secular education in the
curricula. They are currently six
madrasahs in Singapore offering
primary to tertiary education. Four of
them are offering co education while
the other two are exclusively for girls.

Flaws of education system of
Pakistan
 Lack of proper planning
 Social constraints
 Gender gap
 Cost of education
 War on terror
 Funds for education
 Technical education
 Regional disparity
 Unequal quality of education
Recommendations
 Career counseling
 Equality and quality in syllabus
 Technology should be inculcate
 Gender disparity should be eliminated
 Education in private and public sector
should be same
 Providing economic incentives to the
students
 Effective monitoring system should be
made.
 Reduce corruption
Approaches to education system:
There are two approaches to acquiring education: First,
which is being followed by many in Pakistan is to get
education to earn bread and butter. The second approach
is to get education for the sake of personal development
and learning. This approach is followed by affluent and
economically stable people who send their children to
private schools and abroad for education. The problem
arises when non-affluent families send their children to
private schools, and universities. This aspiration for
sending children for higher education is wrong, because
the country does not need managers and officers only.
There are several other jobs where people are needed.
Hence the mind-set of sending one’s children to university
only for becoming officers and managers needs to be
