Established way back in 1932, this fantastic kiwi wildlife park has continued to
evolve while preserving a very unique slice of New Zealand's heritage. Spanning
over 22 acres with a crystal clear natural spring and lush native forest Rainbow
Springs is paradise for wildlife and visitors alike.

The fronds tend to be about 4 m long and have a silver-white
colouration on the undersides. It is a symbol commonly associated
with the country both overseas and by New Zealanders themselves.

The is a large species of parrot, found in forested and alpine regions of the
South Island of New Zealand. About 48 cm (19 in) long, it is mostly olive-green
with a brilliant orange under its wings and has a large, narrow, curved, grey-
brown upper beak. The kea is the world's only alpine parrot. Its omnivorous
diet includes carrion, but consists mainly of roots, leaves, berries, nectar, and
insects.
