2. BRIEF HISTORY…
Ryan Adams was born on November 5th 1974 in Jacksonville, North Carolina and he began
learning to play the electric guitar at the age of 14 and joined a band named Blank Label who
didn‟t stay together long. From there, Adams dropped out of school and started to perform
with local bands and joined many bands throughout the years.
In 2000 Ryan Adams started his solo career with the album “Heartbreaker” and featured the
talents of many other artists. The album was considered a critical success but sales were
slow.
Adams was highly complimented on a record of his by Elton John which resulted in him
becoming more known. He also became more known after doing a cover of the song
Wonderwall and his songs are frequently used in tv shows and films.
Ryan Adams has always been on a minor record label and he creates numerous records per
year. He has a representation of not being able to be pinned down and stereotyped as his
image changes frequently to alternative, to country and even to piano ballads.
His solo career ended in 2004.
