2. The Trailer for the film âThe Social Networkâ is quite unique. The trailer does not include any of the cast in the images, but instead use the cast as voices over the top. The voices are not narration, but they do give an idea of what the film is about. The trailer has words in a bold typeface that stand out against the background and give the viewer some hints to the content and subject of the film. This makes the trailer more interesting and informs the consumer of the topic of the film in a more dramatic way than just revealing the films storyline through clips of it.
3. The trailer for the film âThe Social Networkâ is quite mysterious, and the dramatic background music adds to the effect. Another thing that adds to the effect of the trailer are the background images that are shown. At first the viewer is not aware of what the images are, however as the trailer finishes it is revealed that they are pixels or parts of a montage image of the films protagonist. This fits in with the technological theme of the film. The film is about the social networking website âFacebookâ so the trailer uses the pixilated image in the end to show how it is on computers and there are references to the website in the text, for example the trailer has written âYou donât get to 500 million friends without making a few enemiesâ, which is quite social networking specific phrase.
4. Overall I like the effect of the trailer, however I donât think I will be using the style because it doesnât fit into the criteria and I would like to have some clips of footage in my trailer as well. However I do think this trailer is noteworthy because of how it breaks conventions.
