Erik Hahr, född 17 december,
1869 Dingtuna, död 12 oktober
1944, var ett svenskt arkitekt och
stadsplanerare. Han var
stadsarkitekt i Västerås 1909-
1935
Erik Hahr var den romantiska
målare som blev arkitekt. Hans
vision förblev en dröm som
hamnade i Stadshuset källaren.
Men dörrarna hade öppnats och
några år efteråt Erik Hahr ritade
både de kraftfulla flickskola på
bergssluttningen och Maria City-
hotell vid stora torget. Resten är
arkitekturhistoria. Erik Hahr ritade
under de kommande 40 åren,
nästan alla av betydelse i
Mr Erik Hahr, born 17 december, 1869 Dingtuna , died October
12, 1944 , was a Swedish architect and city planner. He was the
city architect in Västerås 1909-1935 . Mr Hahr was the Romantic
painter who became an architect.His vision remained a dream
that ended up in the City Hall basement. But the doors had been
opened and a few years afterwards Mr Hahr drew both the
powerful girls' school on the mountain slope and Maria City hotel
at the main square.The rest is architectural history.Mr Hahr drew
over the next 40 years, nearly all of importance in Västerås.

• It's a shame, because it is a piece
of Västerås History. The watercolor
was painted in 1899 by 29 -year-old
Erik Hahr from Dingtuna and
cemented his reputation as an
imaginative architect for the future.
• He had proved that he was an
architect to be reckoned with. Ten
years later he would become the city
architect and forever affect the look
of Västerås.
