1. IMMEDIATE CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY
IN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
Internet Marketing & Social Media Specialist
The USAID CEED II project (www.ceed.md) is seeking a part-time internet marketing and social
media consultant to help develop and implement a marketing strategy to drive traffic to a new
Moldova tourism website – www.MoldovaHoliday.travel. The goal of the website is to provide
valuable information about Moldova’s tourism offer to foreign visitors and Moldovan citizens. The
responsibilities of the consultant will include:
Developing content for the site’s Facebook page, Twitter feed, and Blog. This may involve visits
to local tourism attractions to gather information, take pictures, and/or write blog posts, etc.
Overseeing paid internet advertising campaigns using Google adwords, display advertising, and
Facebook advertising.
Developing relationships with other websites to increase the number of inbound links.
Assisting to enrich the website with new content, features, news rubrics, pictures, etc. Also
helping to add keywords and meta data to increase SEO.
Suggesting ways to drive traffic to the website to increase awareness about Moldovan tourism.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
Profound understanding of Internet marketing and Web 2.0. Computer savvy.
Experience using Facebook, Twitter, and Blogs for business purposes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to write very well about tourism.
Experience with photography and journalism.
Experience working in the tourism industry and/or a deep interest in tourism development.
A university degree in business, marketing, journalism, tourism, or similar.
Fluency in English and Romanian or Russian (preference given for fluency in all languages)
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and on a team.
This position requires a time commitment of 5 days per month for a minimum of 12 months.
