Creating PowerPoint presentations to ensure all learners learn
More than 1 in 10 students do not learn from conventional PowerPoint slides
You can design slides to help  ensure all learners learn Dyslexic Partially sighted Colour blind
Students with visual problems or dyslexia are disadvantaged by text-based slides
You do not want to be erecting barriers to learning for anyone
This class will look at breaking down  the barriers  to learning
Barrier 1 Presentations  are badly structured
Most presentations are  not planned well
Key points need to be emphasized so that they are obvious
Presentations need to be planned & structured  before  you create the slides
Barrier 2   Slides are text-based ...if all your information is on the slide as text I hope you have read all of this by now....too late You cannot be accused of dumbing down... You can’t go wrong with bullet lists All my slides have lots and lots of text All slides should have lots of text Text is the best thing Text is wonderful don’t you think?
Moving to a more visual slide design prevents overloading
Ditch the bullet points and put the detail in the narration
Make it a multisensory experience

Use your notes pages to create your handouts automatically
Make sure handouts  are structured well Key Point Explanatory Points
