5. Signing up with Twitter
• To create an account on the web:
• Go to http://twitter.com and find the sign up box, or go directly
to https://twitter.com/signup.
• Enter your full name, phone number, and a password.
• Click Sign up for Twitter.
• In order to verify your phone number, Twitter will send you an SMS text
message with a code. Enter the verification code in the box provided.
• Once you've clicked Sign up for Twitter, you can select
a username (usernames are unique identifiers on Twitter) — type your own
or choose one we've suggested. We'll tell you if the username you want is
available.
• Double-check your name, phone number, password, and username.
• Click Create my account. You may be asked to complete a Captcha to let
us know that you're human.

17. @Reply
• A reply is a response to another user's Tweet
that begins with the @username of the person
you're replying to. You can reply by clicking
the Reply button on a Tweet.
• Any Tweet that is a reply to you begins with your
@username and will show up in
your Notifications tab.
• When a Tweet starts with a @username, the
only users who will see it in their timeline (other
than the sender and the recipient) are those who
follow both the sender and the recipient.
19. What is a Mention?
• A mention is a Tweet that contains another
user’s @username anywhere in the body
of the Tweet. (Yes, this means that replies
are also considered mentions.)
• We collect these messages, as well as all
your replies, in your Notifications tab.
• If you include multiple @usernames in
your Tweet, all of those people will see
your Tweet in their Notifications tab.
