EVALUATION Q4:

edit almost any of its articles, which on the Internet comprise the largest and most popular
general reference work. - Wikipedia

I used YOUTUBE to watch existing music video‟s of the same genre so I could analyse the conventions.

wide variety of user-generated and corporate media video content, including video clips, TV clips, and music videos,
and amateur content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. - Wikipedia
I used GOOGLE CHROME as my web browser as it is quick, efficient and is linked with my
blogger and YouTube account. Google Chrome is a freeware web browserdeveloped by Google.

4. “Prezi is a cloud-based (SaaS) presentation software and storytelling tool for presenting ideas on a virtual canvas. The
product employs a Zooming User Interface (ZUI), which allows users to zoom in and out of their presentation media, and
allows users to display and navigate through information within a 2.5D or parallax 3D space on the Z-axis. ” - Wikipedia
I recorded my research and created a presentation of my findings of the History of the Medium on a
„Prezi‟ (found at prezi.com). It is a modern and interesting way to present my research, and I found the
software easy to use. It allows the user to personalise the colour scheme, fonts, transitions etc., and it
also allows the user to embed music videos so that the viewer can watch them alongside the information
and not have to follow a link to the video on YouTube.

6. WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER
I used WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER to create my animatic for my story board, so I could put the images I had drawn, over my
chosen song to show roughly what my video will look like. I also used it to create my first draft, as it was simple to use and
I wanted to see if my footage fits well together, and could experiment with the effects and transitions, and whether my
clips were long enough to fit together, I chose to use it because it was simpler than premier pro and it was just a trial for
my footage and it didn‟t have to be perfect, especially as it was my first try at putting my footage together
“Windows Movie Maker is a freeware video editing software by Microsoft. It is a part of Windows Essentials software suite
and offers the ability to create and edit videos as well as to publish them on OneDrive, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr.” - Wikipedia

together, which are available for the public to see,
Also, it's free, easy to use, and you can start
blogging immediately. You can personalise the layout
and colour them, and have as many posts as you
like, and post as often as you want. You can embed
YouTube video‟s so people can watch my music video
on my blog, and it is linked with my google chrome
account. I think it is a great way to keep track of all
my coursework, and I enjoy using it!
8. ADOBE PHOTOSHOPAdobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. - Wikipedia
I used ADOBE PHOTOSHOP to construct my ancillary texts and for
other area‟s of research etc. which involved images. There are
many tools available to use, which were very useful to me, such as
the quick selection tool, to help me remove the background of
images. I used the text tool often, to add the important text to my
products, such as the artist and song names, as you can see on the
photo‟s to the left. I think the most important feature of Photoshop
used is the layers, it allows you to lay things on top of each other,
which I used mainly on my CD digipak. Also it allows each individual
„object‟ whether that‟s a image or text, to move individually, to allow
more freedom with the product. There is „red-eye removal‟ tool, a
tool that gets rid of spots etc. any many more tools, which all
contribute to having the greatest possible outcome for my
products. I‟d give Photoshop 10/10!
9. ADOBE PREMIER PROAdobe Premiere Pro is a timeline-based video editing software application. It is part of the Adobe Creative
Suite, a suite of graphic design, video editing and web development programs. - Wikipedia
I used Adobe Premier Pro for the construction of my Music Video. It was pretty simple to use once I had been using it for a
while. I thought it was the right software to use as there was so many effects and transitions that were available to use.
The fact that there was multiple channels available to use was very useful, as it allowed me to lay clips over one another, to
have longer cross dissolves, it allowed me to create the echo effects also. It had a tool which changes the timeframes of
the clips which allowed me to slow down the walking through the graveyard, and I also used this for the echoed shots. The
fact I used this on the editing suite where I had 2 screens was extra useful, as it allowed me to crop the individual clips on
the left hand side, then drop them onto the stream and then view them with the effect/transitions on the large screen.
Overall, I really enjoyed using APP, and I feel it was the best software for me to use to create my masterpiece!

11. MICROSOFT PUBLISHERMicrosoft Publisher is an entry-level desktop publishing application from Microsoft, differing from Microsoft Word
in that the emphasis is placed on page layout and design rather than text composition and proofing. - Wikipedia
I used MICROSOFT PUBLISHER several times, I used it to
create some basic drafts of ancillary texts with existing
images when I didn‟t have access to Photoshop. I also used it
for producing documents, which involved images, as it is
better to use than word when using images.
12. MICROSOFT WORDMicrosoft Word is a word processor developed by Microsoft. - Wikipedia
I used MICROSOFT WORD several times also, I used it when I
needed to used a word processor, to write essays for the exam
part of the media course, I will be using it for my audience
feedback, until I then put it in another form for my evaluation. Its
basic and easy to use, and does everything you need it to.
