9. Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys
During the Revolutionary War, Ethan Allen formed a Vermont militia
called The Green Mountain Boys. They captured Fort Ticonderoga from
the British.
10. Tourism – Pico Mountain
• Vermont has many ski
resorts like Pico
mountain, Killington, and
Sugarbush.
• Pico is located near
Rutland, Vermont.
• It is great all year –round. I
have hiked up it in the
summer and skied down it
in the winter.
• Hiking is free. Lift tickets
cost $65 for an adult and
$50 for a child on the
weekends.
11. Tourism – Green Mountain Suzuki
Institute (Family Music Camp)
• Vermont is very beautiful in
the summer.
• At Music Camp I learn to
play my violin and also
spend time playing my new
friends.
• The Green Mountain Suzuki
Institute is in
Rochester, Vermont which is
right next to the Green
Mountain National Forest.
• The institute takes place in
July each year but I don’t
know how much it costs.
12. • The Shelburne Museum is
in Shelburne, Vermont.
• It is 45 acres and has 39
different buildings to see.
My favorite are the old
steamship and the
carousel.
• The cost is $22 for an
adult and $11 for a kid.
• The museum is open from
May to December each
year.

13. Conclusion
• I think that this is a great state because it is rural and
there are not lots of people or crowds.
• You can own lots of land.
• It is also nice and cool, not hot like Florida.
• I was surprised to learn
about the state
butterfly.
• It was special for me to
research Vermont
because I love to visit my
grandparents there as
much as I can.
