lead as necessary

3.  But in the best possible way, I hate doing the same
thing twice! (but then don’t we all)
 So the first time I do something that will need
doing again, I set up a system – a database, a
spreadsheet, a form, questionnaire, whatever is
appropriate – so that the next time it needs done it
is done the same way, faster and more efficiently.
 If different people have to do the same thing they
do it the same way and report it identically.
 I have done things while the discussion on how its
impossible is still going on!

4.  My experience runs from shop floor to board
room, and I can talk equally to all levels
 I have experience of discussions/training with
none native English speakers with different
cultural viewpoints and can bring us to a
common understanding.
 I am used to talking to people with no
background in the subject (or very limited) so
have developed ways of making complex data
simple to understand

5.  Need a QA system that is more than paper on
the wall? I have written fully accredited
systems that help to run and control systems
and production procedures.
 I am used to high pressure audits whose failure
would be a major problem.
 Whether an existing system or from scratch, I
look at what is done and develop the
procedures around that if it works.
 I train people not just in the system but why it
is important and not just more paperwork

6.  BSc (Hons) Metallurgy and Materials Sciences
from Nottingham university gives the basis.
 Years of experience in testing laboratories,
learning materials, testing, failure
investigations, R&D service, delivery and
reading technical requirements.
 Developed and ran projects that made changes
in systems and operations.
 Failure investigations for all forms of industry,
and a wide range of materials

7.  Trained and certified in Health and Safety.
 Risk assessments from equipment, to
chemicals. Explosive atmospheres to noise.
 Care homes, breweries, manufacturing,
warehousing, been there got the Tee shirt.
 Tied in Safety to QA systems to ensure
auditing and control of both is effective and
efficiently carried out, minimal disruption
maximum return.

8.  I pool ideas experience, providing outside the
box solutions.
 A $50,000 noise abatement structure for my client
was canceled as I solved the problem more
effectively for $10.
 I’ve saved clients money by changing the way they
think, instead of a major project on coatings, I
showed how removing the coatings already used
saved the problems.

9.  Running a company I learned the importance
of:
 Cost control
 Efficiency
 People management
 Maximizing production while minimizing cost but
maintaining quality (Lean manufacturing)
 Ensuring production. Health and Safety, and QA
work as a team not as adversaries
 Training of staff, clients, vendors to work together
for mutual benefit.

10.  I am willing to talk on any topic at any time,
explain the why’s and wherefores of
requirements, standards, specifications thereby
helping people to understand potential
problems.
 Training course are done with examples from
experience, the idea is to teach people, not bore
people. I use humor and examples to ensure
the topic is remembered.
 Have been compared to Don Equus as I usually
have an answer
