The document discusses the passive voice in English. It explains that the passive voice is used when the subject of the sentence is receiving the action rather than doing it, such as when the subject is affected by the verb or when the doer of the action is unknown or unimportant. It provides examples of forming the passive voice using different tenses and with modal verbs. It also demonstrates how to transform sentences from active to passive voice by changing the verb to a form of "to be" plus the past participle and making the subject of the active sentence the object of a prepositional phrase introduced with "by" in the passive sentence.
