Dr. Catherine Rodel
M.Ed. Program Coordinator
University of the Philippines-Cebu College
Attention: Ms. Portia Dacalos
Guidance Services Specialist
Dear Dr. Rodel:
I, Calvin O. Cempron, am writing to you to appeal to take the Master’s Program Entrance
Examination despite the fact that I failed to attend the scheduled date of examination, 28 May
2013.
I was not able to take the examination for it was not in my knowledge that the exam is set on
that date and thought will be administered on June 2, 2013 (the last time I inquired). I am at
Mindanao from May 21-27, 2013 for a visit of my sick grandfather.
Understanding that a well-rounded education is more than academic, I would like to move my
professional career to a greater height. It has been part of my inclination to pursue a Master’s
Degree in Education. I am a Registered Nurse (graduated from Cebu Doctors’ University) and
Professional Teacher (graduated from University of San Jose-Recoletos). I took the latter career
when realization comes in that I am more of a teacher. But as much as I can, I want to be a
jack-of-all-trades. I have the heart of a teacher and a passion of a nurse. I want to be a great
teacher of highest caliber with significant learning resources and educational attainment.
Taking a Master’s Degree then eventually a Doctor’s Degree is one thing I know that will fire my
aptitude and abilities to its complete actual potential. And I want to be a graduate of your school
since I, like everyone else, know how great it is to be a product of a UP pedagogy.
I would like to have another opportunity to take the said entrance examination. I am a diligent
student with a great deal of study habits. I hope for your favorable response and kind
consideration.
Thank you and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Calvin O. Cempron
