4. INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER ORGANS
The stomach is lined with 3 layers of smooth
muscle that move food along in the Digestive
System.
 Red blood cells are made in bones for the
Lymphatic System.


5. ROLE IN MAINTAINING HOMEOSTASIS
Bones give calcium to your heart, Nerves, and
Muscles. Bones work with the Nervous System to
respond to bad stimuli, such as bug bites.
 Bones and muscles allow you to move away from
dangerous stimuli.


6. HEALTH AND DISEASES
Broken (fractured) bones recover on their own
very slowly. When you go to the doctors office,
they put a cast on the broken bone to speed up
the healing process.
 Arthritis is a disease when joints become
irritated/inflamed such as when cartilage in your
joints are damaged or wears away.
 Osteoporosis causes bones to weaken and become
brittle and it’s most common in women over the
age of 50.

