This document provides guidance on building a personal learning network (PLN) using various online tools. It recommends using colleagues, publications, internet searches, and other resources. Tools mentioned for connecting with others and sharing information include Diigo for bookmarking and following others' bookmarks, Blogger for following inspirational bloggers, and Twitter for finding people with similar interests to follow, even if not actively tweeting. The benefits of a PLN include public relations, sharing work, active and passive research, and crowd-sourcing to find answers by leveraging the connections in one's network.

Blogger Follow them! Book mark them! Subscribe to their blog! Subscribe to the RSS feed! Begin to Build: Check author’s blogroll Follow links within blog to new blogs/bloggers
Twitter Identify Colleagues who are admirable and inspirational. Navigate to Twitter to create an account. Use Twitter to find people you may want to follow. Find people with similar interests. Use Twitter to search for people in your contact list. Remember: No need to Tweet to Benefit!
Twitter Want More? Check out the hashtag #ff, or #followfriday. Member suggestions of who to follow. Check your “Following” list to see who they are following. Watch the twitter flow for RT (re-tweets) to see whom the comment originated. Consumer of Content Contributor of Content
