4. What is Hardware
‘Hardware’ is a word that is used to describe pieces
of computer equipment that you can touch. The
following pieces of equipment are all inside a
computer and can be touched. They are pieces of
hardware.

5. Task 11: Hardware Presentation
You will work in groups of two and carry out
research on a provided piece of hardware. You are
to present your findings in a group presentation.
The presentation must include:
•Title and names of group members
•Picture(s) of the hardware
•Explanation - what it does and how it works
One group for each piece of hardware will be asked
to give their presentation to rest of the class.

6. Task 12: Presentation Thoughts
You are to score each presentation out of 10.
Be ready to justify your score!
Points to consider:
1.Does the presentation demonstrate a good
understanding?
2.Are all the required points in the presentation?
3.Is the information provided in the presentation
easy to understand?
4.Is the presentation visually appealing?

7. Task 13: Loop Your Presentation
1.On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
2.Select the Loop continuously until 'Esc' check box.
3.On the Transitions menu, locate the timings
section
4.Select the ‘After’ check box and set the time to
00:10:00 (10 seconds)
5.Click ‘Apply To All’
6.Clicking the ‘F5’ key will start the presentation

Task 14: Gallery Walk
Press the ‘F5’ key to start your presentation
•Do a gallery walk to see all the presentations.
•When back at your seat provide some verbal
feedback to your nearest group.
9. Plenary: Postcard
Using a maximum of four lines at font size 20
summarise what you have learnt in this lesson. Be
ready to feedback what you have written to the
rest of the class.
