onto the relevant courses and change passwords.

3. Task 1: Network Passwords
•From now all passwords must be 8 characters in
length and include a CAPITAL letter, a NUMBER
and a SYMBOL such as !£@?

5. Task 2: Home Folder
Organised your user area:
1.Deleted any files and folders you do not need
2.Ensure all files are in the correct ‘Year 7’ folders
3.Make sure you have a ‘Year 8’ folder with all the
subject folders in – if not create one!
4.The only top level folders you should see are
‘Year 7’ and ‘Year 8’

6. Task 3: Creating Folders
Rename your Year 8 ICT folder to ‘IT and
Computing’ then create the following folders inside
it:
•Welcome Back
•How Computers Work
•Coding Websites
•Creating Mobile Phone Apps
•Programming In Python
•Database Development

7. Task 4: New Look VLE
•Direct link - vle.cardinalallen.co.uk
•You will shortly receive the print out with a
temporary password on and will then be shown
how to change it
•Your password must be set to the same as your
Network password

8. Task 5: Course Enrolment
Locate and enrol onto all of the Year 8 - IT and
Computing courses. Your teacher will provide you
with an enrolment key.
