A GLIMPSE INTO THE LIFE OF
EMILY…

 After taking multiple surveys on
  missouriconnections.org, I know that I am
a very social person, I work well with
others, and like to be very organized.
 I love people!
 I enjoy being around others, and helping people in
      any way that I can.
 My religion is very important to me.
 I would love being a school counselor because I
would only have to work 5 day weeks, and I would
always be able to attend church services.

JOB INTERVIEW
 This past year, I interviewed my high school counselor
to see if I might be interested in counseling as a
career. Here is a sample of some of the questions I
    asked:
 What would a normal day at work look like for you?
 How many hours of overtime work do you complete in a week?
 Is being a school counselor a very structured job? Do you have a set
schedule that you follow each day?
 How much work do you work over the summer to prepare for the
        next school year?
 Do you attend training courses that benefit your job often?
 What degrees did you have to obtain to be able to become a
        counselor?
 Would you recommend being a school counselor to someone who is
        interested or researching the profession?
 What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Iam involved in a lot of service/volunteer
activities that will help enhance my
 employability in later years.
  Mayor’s Youth Council: Assists the mayor/city
administration with projects concerning the town.
 Beta Club: Promotes the ideals of academic
   achievement, character, service and leadership
among elementary and secondary school students.
 Key Club: A club that helps build leadership through
   school and community activities.
 Future Business Leaders of America: Helps
promote leadership and builds good business
   attributes.
SPECIAL
SKILLS…
COMMUNICATION
 This past summer I attended a church camp in
Nashville, TN. I got to go out into the city and minister
to mistreated children. I spent the entire week at a
church VBS planning crafts for the kids. I loved to give
the kids attention that they would never have
received anywhere else. It really helped me to realize
my true calling in life. I have the potential to make a
    difference.
