I'll probably always be known for being the Founder of Freeserve, one-time UK’s largest Internet Company. I'm in the Yorkshire ‘Business Power 100’ (Yorkshire Post & Yorkshire Insider), and the Queen has awarded me a BEM, 'British Empire Medal.' My eureka moment was when I bought a computer, and nobody could tell me how to get on the Internet. After much persuasion by me, Dixons agreed to launch Freeserve in September 1998, UK's largest ISP 3 months later, sold to France Telecom for £1.6bn three years after launch in 2001.
