2. Kings Of Leon – Only by the Night The overall Image of the CD cover is Quite ‘Dark’ which some sorts of a Army Green and Black Theme. A Section of each band member is put together to create one face, there is also an eagle in the middle of the faces which looks like to create the face features instead of their eyes, nose and mouths. The Band are represented as a Rock/Indie band which ties into the actual music maybe with a hint of quirkiness with the Bird. Muse – The Resistance The overall Image of the CD cover is very colourful, something you would expect on a ‘Pop Album’ not a Rock style Album. The Band are represented as a Rock/Alternative genre which isn't represented on this Album Cover The CD Cover is some sort of Space theme with the World in the middle with all bright shapes surrounding the World. There is also a Man who looks to be walking towards the World on a Yellow strip. This could be a metaphor for the Album.
3. The Script The CD Cover looks like some sort of Fairy Tale make believe city. I think it fits well with the type of music on this particular CD. The Band are represented as a Pop/Rock type band, the Pop elements can be represented on this cover at the bight colours in the Blue Sky and the Rainbow also the colour on the woman's dress. The Band isn't shown on the CD Cover, there is a City which looks like to have been cut out and stuck together. The fog from the building show it could be seen as a Dark place but the Blue sky makes it seem happier. There is a couple hugging in the palms of a hand wearing bright clothes with a rainbow instead of a mans head. Which visually says the album can be seen as happy but there are dark areas. Jay Z – The Blueprint 3 The overall Image of the CD cover is eye catching with a White theme with small imprints of black with 3 strips of Red to represent the third album using the name ‘Blueprint’. The Artist is known as a rapper, this doesn’t come across when you look at the cover. It inst representative of the genre. But there is a lot of keyboards and wires which could represent the way the album was made in the modern electronic vibe. This may represent the fact that he focused a lot more on the instrumental side of the Music as well as the Lyrics.
4. Katy Perry – One of The Boys The overall Image of the CD cover is like an old style of a fashion girl, with the fake flowers and Garden and Katy sitting on a Sun Lounger wearing a Sun Hat in the old style high-wasted shorts and Bra-Top. The album cover is based on a 1962 film called ‘Lolita’ which can be seen in comparison from images of Sue Lyon (Lolita) to the Album Cover which is probably a personal touch rather than a musical influence. Katy Perry is seen as a Pop star but there are very few Pop songs on the Album, more Acoustic/Rock styles. ‘One of The Boys’ title doesn’t fit with the Front cover although with her quirky style, personality and lyrics may be seen to fit in with the overall from cover. Robbie Williams – Reality Killed the Video Star The overall Image of the CD cover is seen as a deserted dirty desert with a Robbie William on a Dirt bike. This is a picture from the Video Shoot of the leading Single from this Album. The image makes him look as if he doesn’t care, its simple which could be linked into the title ‘Reality Killed the Video Star’. Robbie is known as a Pop artist this image doest particularly come across on this album, the title also doesn’t show how the Album is put across.
5. Lady GaGa – The Fame The CD Cover is a close shot of Lady GaGa’s face, it shows her wearing Sunglasses with Crystals all over the lenses, the crystals may represent how she likes to be different. The image itself looks like it would be the type of image that you would see in some sort of fashion magazine with the type of font used for her name, for example ‘Vogue Magazine’ It doesn’t represent Lady GaGa to how the Public know her as over the top with her wacky outfits and weird sense of Humour. The track are all upbeat some slower and some which could be hear in clubs P!nk – Funhouse The representation of the Album fits in with the album title ‘Funhouse’ with P!nk sitting on a Rocking Horse pulling a face. There is also a Circus type font with graphics in all corners which again may be seen in an old circus poster with a raw and sexy type feel with the type of clothing she is wearing. The Music on the actual album is Pop/Rock some areas and dark and some a based on quirky lyrics. Two tracks represent something you would see in a Circus/Funhouse which is the overall image this completely fits in with the title track and album title ‘Funhouse’.
6. La Roux La Roux is an Electronic Band with one singer Ellie. The album cover shows Ellie with a side portrait of her face. You can tell of her sense of a quirky style with her hair which is all pulled forward and hair sprayed up with the title in White at the top of the Cover which stands out on the relatively ‘dark’ cover. The photo of La Roux comes across as very fashionable, something you’d expect to seen in a fashion magazine. The Cover is simple with a Red Background which also fits in with her Ginger hairstyle which makes the cover work well. In reference to the Music it doesn’t show entirely the music La Roux is credibly known for. Jason Mraz – We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things Jason Mraz is a Easy listening/Folk musician, the cover comes across as if it was hand-drawn including the type of font. The cover is very simple all white with a Black drawing of Jason Mraz which is very simple with no detail. The simple theme could fit in with the Music style which is very simple and easy listening and the cover is easy simple which shows off the style of his songs to how we hear them.
