Breakdown
Game Rules - Upward Handbook (pgs.
112-117)
Games consist of two 18-minute halves
(three 6-minute segments) and a five minute
halftime.
The clock stops every six minutes for
predetermined substitutions. This time
should not be treated as a timeout.

Breakdown
All Divisions play 4 vs. 4.
Teams switch goals at halftime.
Score is kept in the 2nd - 6th Grade Divisions. Score
is not kept in the Kindergarten - 1st Division.
Any games ending in a tie will remain a tie.
Coaches are encouraged to be on the field in the
Kindergarten -1st Division. In all other divisions,
coaches will be asked to coach from the sidelines
during games.
Standings are not maintained in any division.

The Upward Substitution process ensures that
each player gets equal playing time over the
course of the season
Every player will play at least half the game.
No player will sit out 2 segments in a row.
The option of Coaches making an unfair
substitution is removed.
