PK-8 School
Middle School (3 classes per grade, 25-29 students)
We started ilearnnyc.net last September
All subject areas/teachers are expected to use it for
everything

3. Before ilearnnyc
Every teacher had his/her own class blogs
(wordpress, edublogs, blogger, etc.)
Every teacher used engrade.com for grade entries

4. Parent Workshops
2 PTA-sponsored evening workshops on what the
LMS was all about
They wanted a single location where all grades could
be viewed – Joe helped create a widget on the
homepage for this
They wanted notifications of new grade items, etc. –
the Notification section allowed for this.

5. Teacher Workshops
I was given 5 periods/week to work with teachers
during preps
4 professional development sessions after-school on
Mondays have been devoted to ilearn LMS
Also available wherever/whenever

6. Student Workshops
Students received usernames and “how-to” use the
LMS system during technology class instruction.
