BITSAA Infrastructure Backbone
Overview
BITSAA Technology Team focuses on designing and implementing
efficient solutions for technical needs across BITSAA, and provide
all its teams with required infrastructural support to execute their
goals
Our input: The technical finesse of its members and sensible
technology solutions in the industry (and creative ideas of BITSAA
teams/initiatives).
Our output: Clean and smart technical tools to bring BITSAA
world-wide closer together.

What did we achieve? … To name a few
Launching the U.S. and Indian editions of the BITSAA International online eStore to make
available quality BITS-Pilani merchandise against order for BITSians.
Preparing quality guided tours to help members of the BITSAA teams and initiative/chapter
heads administrate the portal, member groups, content management and other backend
functions.
Supporting the Newsletter team by constantly publishing latest news items and BITSian success
stories on the portal. Setup an automated newsletter and Twitter Support.
Provisioned Faculty membership type to encourage BITS faculty members to join the portal.
Setting up a BITSAA Intranet portal for use of teams and all BITSAA Leaders.
 Evaluated and Deployed a Global Conferencing Service for BITSAA Conference Calls. BITSAA
Leadership has spent a cumulative 40,000 minutes in Conference Calls over telephone and Skype
since April, 2009 for BITSAA initiatives & functioning.
Alumni Membership verification application that will enable chapter administrators and batch
administrators on the portal to verify membership requests into the BITSAA.org alumni directory.
At the Technology Team, we learn, we share and we implement, so that BITSAA members
anywhere, anytime can stay connected to each otherand to where it all began – BITS, Pilani.
