2. I would use Bauer to distribute my magazine as they are distributing Kerrang, mojo
and Q magazine meaning that they have a gap in their portfolio for a magazine
that focuses on the grime genre. And my magazine could bring them into this
market.
3. Rivalry
My main rivals would be Clash magazine as they seem to be the only magazine that picks up on grime music
and features it within their contents . CLASH has a circulation figure of around 40,000 readers per fortnight.
According to ‘Marketing week.com’ the magazine is re-launching amid declining circulation figures, with British
magazine sales falling 5.3% in the first half of 2015 according to ABC figures. As other music titles like NME are
focusing on digital and free publications, Alex Thompson (Clash’s managing director) argues it “has never been
more attractive” for Clash to return to the print sphere.
