2. “These aren’t at all like the peas my mother makes me eat.”
thought Eric. He popped one into his mouth. That is when
he noticed something odd.
3. “I have to get there before the storm arrives.” thought Sister
Agatha. “I have to tell them what I have discovered. The
storm is not what it seems.”
5. This was the last one. Fred the bug had eaten each of the
other 12 ingredients the old wise Cricket had described.
When this was finished he would turn into a…
6. When her owner stepped out of the room she got into the
tea cup. She heard a tea bath was good for the feathers.
But she never expected the bath would…
7. Beneath the burbling water going down the drain there was
another unmistakable sound. “Hello? Hello, can anyone
hear me?” it said.
8. “Soon all the rocks will obey me” said Rose. There was a
gleam in her eye but Ty couldn’t tell if it was merry or
dangerous.
9. “This is where I come from” Johnny told
the rest of them. “See, I told you it was
real.” Now follow me to see why it got its
name.
10. The old shoes had one more win left in
them. Tonight was the night.
11. They said Mrs.
McReady used
them in her
soup.
But Carlos didn’t
believe that at
all. Plus, it was
his last ball.
12. “I’m serious! I think you’re shrinking
Melody.” Said Ben. She didn’t feel any
different, but Ben was looking bigger by
the moment.
13. The spoon was stuck firmly to his lips. No matter how hard
he tried, he couldn’t pry it off.

“Now, down to
business,” she

19. “Right here. This is the spot where it happened last time”
said Nicholas. “I think it is happening now” said Beth. They
held tight to each other’s hands as they rose higher…

But he wouldn’t be on their plane. He
was taking an earlier flight.
21. Steve peered into the tank
again. He was sure this time
that they were looking back
at him and laughing.
22. “Just be ready” said the woman. “They
will be back and they will be looking for
their queen.” Ella tried.
23. Samantha knew she could go faster if she
tried. She pushed harder. Her feet
became a blur. That’s when it happened.
24. It was really happening. It started out as
snow but then changed. She had to bring
the others here to see.

Jennifer always
hide her face
like that?
They had
asked of
course. But
she never
spoke.
Today the
others were
determined to
find out.
26. She came to restore the
polluted stream. “Just a
few minutes more should
do it.” thought the faerie.
27. She was a water adept. This pond needed to be refilled. She
said the words and held out her hands. Clean, pure water
burst forth.
29. He stood there
yelling in a
language that no
one understood. In
fact it was not a
human language at
all.
30. They were finally free. No adults, no rules, no chores. There
were truly alone here. It seemed fun at first.
31. Tal accidentally opened his
mouth on his turn down
the hill. This wasn’t sand at
all. It tasted sweet. It was…
