Introduction to ArtificiaI Intelligence in Higher Education
Proverbs chapter one
1.
2. WISE ELDERS: FATHER AND MOTHER AS
SOUCES OF LIFE-ENHANCING INSTRUCTION
Father = “Instruction” -- Hebrew: teaching,
correction, discipline
Mother = “Teaching” – Hebrew: “Torah” = a body
of vital instruction for living
(Someone to “kick my butt and hold my hand”)
3. RE-PARENTING
Father and / or mother absent, abusive, carnally-minded,
etc?
Let’s face it: you miss out, and so do they
Good News: God can put Father / Mother figures into your
life to supply what was lacking
• What is one important life lesson you learned from a
father or a mother (or God-sent spiritual parents)?
4. EXAMPLE OF GODLY INSTRUCTION
“Parent” seeks to convince son to resist
enticement
Schemer is “quoted” in order to strengthen
impact with a word picture
5. THE WOMAN “WISDOM”
Wisdom is personified in the feminine.
Many mystey religions claim to have “secret” wisdom
Not so here. This “woman” - Wisdom – is crying out:
•
Public Square
•
City Wall
•
Gates
“Common” wisdom is desiring to pull in all who ware humble enough to
become her students
6. HER ATTITUDE (WISDOM)
Pour out my thoughts
Make known my teaching (v. 23)
Stretch out my hand (v. 24)
Hard to miss the earnestness and
urgency in this text.
7. YOUR LIFE LESSONS
What is at least one thing you
have learned to avoid doing by
observing others and seeing
what happened to them?
8. WOULD-A, SHOULD-A, COULD-A
Imagine living with few to no regrets!
Only the teachable, humble, and
observant can hope for such a life
• Too late point: (vss 25-28)
• “Shouted at” every day!
