2. INDIAN RAILWAY HISTORY
It is one of the world's largest railway networks comprising 115,000 km
(71,000 mi) of track over a route of 65,808 km (41,826 mi) and 7,112 stations.
The country's first railway, built by the Great Indian Peninsula Railway (GIPR),
opened in 1853, between Bombay and Thane.
The core of the pressure for building Railways In India came from London. In
1848, there was not a single kilometer of railway line in India.

Central Railway Workshop
(1876).
• Repairing and Manufacturing of
Steam engines and Carriages of
Rajputana-Malwa Railway.
• After 2000 It works on IOH and
POH of Carriages.
• Also POH of Heritage on Wheels
and POW,RROW.

For IOH of Bogie Dismantle of Bogie BMBC
POH (periodic overhauling):- For
ICF coaches every 18 Months.
IOH (Intermediate Overhauling):-
For ICF Bogies Every 9 Months.
Each part sent to Repair or Change
after Dismantle of Bogie.
Shot Blasting is done on Springs
and other Dismantles.
