10. SAFETY MEASURES TAKEN WHILE IN
PESTICIDES INDUSTRY
âą In, âBIOSTADT INDIA LIMITEDâ, the health and safety of employees is
the first preference and it is followed as per the recommended
standards approved by Government of India. The following are the
criteria for workers, employees as well as visitors to enter the pesticides
industry:

âą Safety Plans: To achieve 100% safety of employees working in the
company, one should follow the Dominoâs Theory to avoid uncertain
accidents.
MISTAKES OF PEOPLE
11. âą Product information: It is named as MSDS or SDS (Material Safety Data Sheet or
Safety Data Sheet); is a document that contains information on the potential health effects
of exposure to chemicals, or other potentially dangerous substances and on safe working
procedures when handling chemical products. The information that is contained in the
labels are as:
a) Contents, by chemical and common name.
b) Fire hazard
c) Toxicity hazard
d) Storage and handling precautions
e) First aid for inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin or eyes and many more.

iii. One should wash their hands, face, fore-arms after in contact with the
contaminated equipments or pesticides.
iv. One should not use solvents to avoid the skin absorption of pesticides.

a. Exhaust Ventilations should be used to control air-borne process emissions.
b. Use of Scrubbers; for liquid formulations.
c. Use of Dust Collectors; for powdered formulations.
d. For waste disposal; use of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
