3. FACT OF TODAY
Many small companies and even departments in
larger enterprises simply don’t have mandate for a
dedicated project manager
Often they will appoint someone from within the
business to run projects on a case-by-case basis.
Selection is usually on basis of how close are they to
process of project rather skillset required to manage
project even HR , Marketing people are deployed
But around 60% of projects fail
4. FACT OF TODAY
Gone are the days when technical skills were the only
driving force behind successful people or projects
* Individuals who commit to develop their wider
professional capabilities are the ones who will thrive in
a modern working environment.
The most successful people are the ones that are
exceeding their job requirements by going above and
beyond; using professional behaviors to think critically,
connect with people internally and externally building
relationships to help make sure the companies mission
and vision are accomplished.

Simpact System Ltd has developed project management
framework for UK government in 1975 (Project Resource
Organization Management Planning Technique) was later
adopted by many parts of UK govt in 1983
Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency -1989 set
guidelines for PRINCE and its successor PRINCE2 followed strictly
by UK government projects and later adopted by other
organizations.
In July 2013, ownership of the rights to PRINCE2 was transferred
from HM Cabinet Office to AXELOS Ltd, a joint venture by
the Cabinet Office and Capita, with 49% and 51% stakes
respectively. It is adopted in many countries worldwide, including
the UK, western European countries, and Australia
8. VERSION
There have been two major revisions of PRINCE2 since
its launch in 1996: "PRINCE2:2009 Refresh" in 2009, and
"PRINCE2 2017 Update" in 2017. The justification for the
2017 update was the evolutions in practical business
practices and feedbacks from PRINCE2 practitioners in
the actual project environment
