Highlights
Market Indicator
Mr. Sandeep Garg
Managing Director
VSN Financial Services
From an investor point of view this budget has set a good tone for long term
wealth creation by investing in Indian economy. This budget was presented
in a real professional style where clear focus was provided to capital
expenditure and virtual assets. No where during her speech, the FM
acknowledge the destress in the economy.
As a common man you should understand that government has initiated
some long term but very powerful steps, which could take the economy on
the higher scale. PM Gati Shakti Plan is going to the keyword from this
budget. Gati Shakti is a national master plan for multi-modal connectivity,
essentially a digital platform to bring 60 ministries including railways and
roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation
of infrastructure connectivity projects. This will facilitate the last mile
connectivity of infrastructure.
We have allocated a special chapter on "Budget 2022", in this issue of our
Newsletter. Hope this will help you in terms of managing your investment
outlook ahead.
Best Wishes,
Sandeep Garg

MARCHING
TOWARDS
WORLD

At the end of the year 2021 inflation was on a
higher side with around 5.6%.
What to expect in FY 2023 : Inflation is not a
bigger worry for FY 2023 because of elevated

close to -7%.
What to expect in FY 2023 : Fiscal

range of -6.2 to -6.4%.
What is contributing to growth ?
India's major recovery is coming from government infra spending strong capital inflows and impressive
vaccination numbers.
Strong international trade tie-ups.
Robust foreign reserve
Infra Spending
Impressive Vaccination Rate
What pulled the growth up ?
Possibility of New surge in COVID infection.
Rising Inflation
High Fiscal deficit
Poor employment
Poor credit growth
What pulled the growth down ?
This budget seems to be a good booster for infrastructure,
education, banking and agriculture. FM also emphasis on faster
implementation of digital rupee and digital university to give special
push for digitalization. All these actions may increase the capital
expenditure allocation in public schemes and generate higher
employment.
Under her speech related to climate change and sustainability she
focused on renewable power by way of facilitating domestic
manufacturing for solar TV modules. She also mentioned govt,
special push for electric vehicle, gift city and sovereign green bonds.
any sum of money received by an individual from any person towards covid-19 medical treatment for self or
family, will be exempted from tax.
Any sum received by a member of the family of the deceased employee on account of COVID19, will be exempted
from tax.
The surcharge on all type of LTCGs will be caped at 15%.
Summing up this budget covered almost everything which could contribute towards growth and pullup the economy
faster, like Hospitality Sector, Banking Sector, Telecom, Manufacturing Sector and all got some good announcement
in their favour.
What are the changes under individual taxes ?
As such there is no change in the income tax slab in the budget however government announced some extra
exemptions in the tax filing process.
like :-
A new tax is introduced on virtual digital assets at the rate of 30% w.e.f. FY 2022-23. The gift of virtual digital asset
is also taxable.
What are the changes in indirect taxes ?
FM announced her intent to increase domestic manufacturing by way of increased custom duty. Hence there are
many goods in which custom duty is increase like artificial jewelry, artificial kidney, solar cells, toys, headphones,
loud speaker, transformers, x-ray machine etc. This will give a boost to make in India initiatives.
Besides these, FM also announced a lot of policy pointers towards ease of doing business like integration of central
and state level system, active involvement of the state, Digitalization of process, better insolvency law and single
window green clearance etc.
BUDGET
JANUARY 2022 03
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
Presented her budget which was based on 7 key priorities.
PM Gati Shakti master plan
Inclusive development
Productivity enhancement
Sunrise opportunities
Energy Transition
Climate Action
Financing of Investments
The key takeaway from this budget for a mutual fund investor or general investors is :-
"Higher infrastructure spending" FM announced
various initiative under PM Gati Shakti Plan and
clearly widened the gamut of infrastructure sector.
Hence one should look at investing in such infra
companies which are directly or indirectly getting
benefited from such announcements.
Digital push to financial services is another big
announcement and policy updates which could
improvise the over all banking and financial services
eco system.
e-passport issuance using embedded electronic
chips and futuristic technology to be rolled out.
Battery swiping policy for electric vehicle a good
thrust to automotive sector.
Green bonds for green infrastructure and reduce
carbon intensity is another big policy decision.
Promotion of Drone Shakti by way of startups.
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission for national digital
health eco system has been rolled out.
Summing up it was a good budget on macro basis, which offers many opportunities for long term investors. Analyst
believe that there will be lot of investment attraction in funds which are based on IT, Banking, Infra and Indian
manufacturing. Hence as an investor one should take the exposure via lumpsum or SIP route, into such funds.
Given below are the chart for various mutual funds under these attractive category :-

CHAPTER 03 INSPIRING STORY
M R . N E E R A J
JANUARY 2022 08
Lower Lock -in period of 3 Years : Its becomes open for redemption only after 3 years. Investors can
continue to remain invested for as long as they wish
Tax efficient gains : All the gains are treated under Long term Capital Gain
Tax Benefit : It offers investors a tax deduction (Individuals and HUF) for an investment of upto Rs 1.5
lac which is allowed under Sec 80 C of Income tax Act 1961
Possibility of Higher returns : Although this scheme is categorised under High Risk due to its
investment nature, this also opens the possibility of Higher return.
This is yet another inspiring story of smart investments, where the Risk- Reward ratio is properly
calculated and adopted by our client Mr Neeraj Jain, aged 44 Yrs.
When we met him around 10 Years back, he discussed about his annual savings in PPF. He was very happy
with this guaranteed return feature of PPF and was really satisfied with the steady accumulation of funds
in his passbook. He was excited about his target value of around Rs 39 Lakhs in 15 Years (by way of
monthly contribution of Rs 12000 per month) . Hence he was quite keen in opening another PPF account
in his wife's name.
The whole discussion started when we presented him a post inflation value of this Rs 40 lakhs after 15
Years - it would be not more than Rs 18 Lakh ( assuming an inflation of 6% p.a). So the key question in
front of Neeraj was , " Where to invest his funds to beat this inflation, get Tax benefits same as PPF and
lock-in less than or equal to PPF ? " .
We presented him this unique product called as ELSS ( Equity Linked Savings Scheme). ELSS MF schemes
have following features as compared to PPF :
Lesson : If you have a long term investment tenure and looking for Tax saving under section 80
C, then ELSS is the best choice. We are here to help you and motivate you at every stage. Call
freely at +91-98141-23225, +91-86999-92760 or email us at: info@vsnfinancialservices.com
Disclaimer : The name of the Schemes shown in above table are specific to this case story of Mr. Neeraj; and it is should not be a
taken as recommendation or advice from our side. You are advised to select your SIP according to your risk profile and
investment tenure. The minimum investment to start an SIP is Rs. 500 per month. Mutual Fund investments are subject to market
risk. Please read the offer document carefully before investing.
PPF IS GOOD BUT ELSS MF ARE BETTER
NEERAJ OPENED A SIP OF RS 12000 PER MONTH IN ELSS SCHEMES, AROUND 10
YEARS BACK. GIVEN BELOW IS THE RESULT OF HIS INVESTMENTS AS ON DATE :
Disclaimer : Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme related documents carefully. The
NAVs of the schemes may go up or down depending upon the factors and forces affecting the securities market
including the fluctuations in the interest rates. The past performance of the mutual funds is not necessarily indicative of
future performance of the schemes. The Mutual Fund is not guaranteeing or assuring any dividend under any of the
schemes and the same is subject to the availability and adequacy of distributable surplus.
CHAPTER 04 TOP SIP THEME FOR FY22

existing SIP related to this theme. Such funds are called as

  • 8. GDP RUPEE CHAPTER 03 INSPIRING STORY M R . N E E R A J JANUARY 2022 08 Lower Lock -in period of 3 Years : Its becomes open for redemption only after 3 years. Investors can continue to remain invested for as long as they wish Tax efficient gains : All the gains are treated under Long term Capital Gain Tax Benefit : It offers investors a tax deduction (Individuals and HUF) for an investment of upto Rs 1.5 lac which is allowed under Sec 80 C of Income tax Act 1961 Possibility of Higher returns : Although this scheme is categorised under High Risk due to its investment nature, this also opens the possibility of Higher return. This is yet another inspiring story of smart investments, where the Risk- Reward ratio is properly calculated and adopted by our client Mr Neeraj Jain, aged 44 Yrs. When we met him around 10 Years back, he discussed about his annual savings in PPF. He was very happy with this guaranteed return feature of PPF and was really satisfied with the steady accumulation of funds in his passbook. He was excited about his target value of around Rs 39 Lakhs in 15 Years (by way of monthly contribution of Rs 12000 per month) . Hence he was quite keen in opening another PPF account in his wife's name. The whole discussion started when we presented him a post inflation value of this Rs 40 lakhs after 15 Years - it would be not more than Rs 18 Lakh ( assuming an inflation of 6% p.a). So the key question in front of Neeraj was , " Where to invest his funds to beat this inflation, get Tax benefits same as PPF and lock-in less than or equal to PPF ? " . We presented him this unique product called as ELSS ( Equity Linked Savings Scheme). ELSS MF schemes have following features as compared to PPF : Lesson : If you have a long term investment tenure and looking for Tax saving under section 80 C, then ELSS is the best choice. We are here to help you and motivate you at every stage. Call freely at +91-98141-23225, +91-86999-92760 or email us at: info@vsnfinancialservices.com Disclaimer : The name of the Schemes shown in above table are specific to this case story of Mr. Neeraj; and it is should not be a taken as recommendation or advice from our side. You are advised to select your SIP according to your risk profile and investment tenure. The minimum investment to start an SIP is Rs. 500 per month. Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risk. Please read the offer document carefully before investing. PPF IS GOOD BUT ELSS MF ARE BETTER NEERAJ OPENED A SIP OF RS 12000 PER MONTH IN ELSS SCHEMES, AROUND 10 YEARS BACK. GIVEN BELOW IS THE RESULT OF HIS INVESTMENTS AS ON DATE :
