2. SMART HOME
A smart home refers to a convenient home setup where appliances and devices can
be automatically controlled remotely from anywhere with an internet connection
using a mobile or other networked device. Devices in a smart home are
interconnected through the internet, allowing the user to control functions such as
security access to the home, temperature, lighting, and a home theatre remotely.
4. SMART LIGHTENING
Smart lighting uses IOT-enabled sensors, bulbs, or adapters to allow users to manage their
home or office lighting with their smartphone or smart home management platform. Smart
lighting solutions can be controlled through an external device like a smartphone or smart
assistant, set to operate on a schedule, or triggered by sound or motion.
Smart lighting achieve energy savings by sensing the human movements and their
environments and controlling the lights accordingly.
5. SENSORS
PIR occupancy detector:
It detects the occupants present based on difference
Between heat emitted by moving objects and
Background heat
RGB: recognise/detect the color of a material in RGB
Photocell : They allow you to detect light.
They are small , inexpensive, low-power,
easy to use and don't wear out.
Photo diode: it is a semiconducting device that
Convers light energy into electrical energy
6. SMART APPLIANCES
Smart appliances enable users to connect, control,
and monitor their appliances allowing them to save
time, energy, and money. the management is easier
and provide status information of appliances to the
users remotely.
OpenRemote comprises of three components:
1.Controller : manages scheduling and runtime integration between devices.
2.Designer : allows to create both configuration for the controller and user interface designs.
3.Control Panel : allows to interact with devices and control them.
7. INTRUSION DETECTION
The purpose of home intrusion detection system is to detect intrusions using sensors
and raise alerts, if necessary. Home intrusion detection systems use security cameras
and sensors to detect intrusions and raise alerts. The form of the alerts can be in from of
sms, email , image grab or a short video clip as an email attachment.
The increased deployment of such smart devices brings a lot of security and privacy
risks. In order to overcome such risks, Intrusion Detection Systems are presented as
pertinent tools that can provide network-level protection for smart devices deployed in
home environments. These systems monitor the network activities of the smart home-
connected devices and focus on alerting suspicious or malicious activity.
9. SMOKE/GAS DETECTION:
The smart smoke detector is an early warning device. In the presence of smoke, the
red LED will be activated and an alert will be sent to you. The detector is ideal for
households, lounges, coffee houses, and any place that needs monitoring.
10. SMOKE/GAS DETECTOR
It uses optical detection, ionization or air sampling techniques to detect smoke . The
form of the alert can be in form of signals that are sent to a fire alarming system
Gas detector can detect the presence of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide
(CO), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), etc.
Sensors like MQ2,MQ3,MQ138 etc.. are used to sense different gases based on
sensing technology present in them
