2. Idea 1
• Dinner party dishes
Examples: Aubergine and chick pea curry or linguine with cherry
tomatoes and goat’s cheese.
Different dishes that can be cooked as main meals at a dinner party.
This would obviously be aimed at adults that are interested in good
food and dining.
The 8 cards could be numbered and have some detail on them that if
they were lined up or put in a specific arrangement they would match
up to make a dinner table on the background of the card.
I would use more classy colours rather than bright colours, such as
maroon or gold for the detailing and the backgrounds of my cards. I
would use two colours such as maroon and gold because they are two
good contrasting colours and they would look nice against each other.
I would emboss the title of the recipes and use photographs of the
idealised dish.

What do you like about the idea?
The idea of the cards matching up if the are arranged in a certain order. The colour scheme is nice, and will appeal to the target
audience.
What areas of the idea could be developed?
Layout of the card such as size and fonts of the texts.
What do you find interesting about the idea?
The idea that the cards will match up, and the embossed titles.

4. Idea 2
• Foreign foods
Each card would represent a different dish from a foreign country.
Examples: Rajma (red kidney bean curry) or Saag tofu from India, or artichoke
ravioli or gnocchi with Mediterranean vegetables from Italy.
These dishes would be aimed at anyone who is interested in foreign
cooking, or maybe even foreign people themselves who are looking for
vegetarian dishes that are from their heritage and backgrounds. I will also add
other information as to how the meals can be made vegan.
The layout of these cards would use bright colours and also detailing from the
country that was being represented by the recipe. For example, I could use
some Chinese symbols if I were to do a Chinese recipe and use red because
this is a significant colour in China. I could even incorporate the country’s flag
into my designs maybe in the title lettering or the background.
I would use photographs of the idealised dishand would laminate the cards.

What do you like about the idea?
The theme of the cards, being dishes from different countries. The colour scheme of the cards, I think if the cards are designed
with the countries in mind, it will go well with the foreign meals.
What areas of the idea could be developed?
What do you find interesting about the idea?
i think the theme of these cards is interesting and could make a very nice product.

6. Idea 3
• Vegetarian easy cooking for kids
Examples: Vegetarian pizza sandwiches or jammy oatmeal heart
biscuits.
These recipes will obviously be aimed at children. I would like these
recipes to be easy for children to make themselves with only a small
need for a parent to help if there was oven cooking involved etc.
I would use bright colours to attract children and make them
interesting to read and use. I would like the die cut these cards into
interesting shapes for children as well.
I would like to be creative with the names of m recipes
also, incorporate alliteration and cartoon-like pictures into the design.
There could be a certain character that could be on all of the cards.
I would make the interesting parts of the cards stand out by embossing
or varnishing.

What do you like about the idea?
How you aim to make it as easy as it can be for children, and the other methods you mention to make the card appeal to the
target audience.
What areas of the idea could be developed?
The idea of die cutting might need to be developed, to choose how to cut the cards.
What do you find interesting about the idea?
I think the idea of the character appearing in each card is interesting and I think this especially will appeal to the younger children.

8. Idea 4
• Quick and easy student meals
Examples: Hot Chile grilled cheese sandwich or vegetable
crepes.
I would like these recipes to be quick and easy to make for
students who may not have any cooking experience, but also
maintain a healthydiet at the same time.
These cards would be bright colours but not as bright as they
would be if they were aimed at children; the cards need to be
interesting but not too ‘in your face.’ I would like these cards
to have some kind of interesting detailing such as a border or
some patterns incorporated into the design.
I would use photographs of the idealised dish. I would also
laminate the cards.

What do you like about the idea?
How the recipes will be suited for the typical student, yet still stay healthy. Laminating the card is a good idea as well, because it
wouldn’t get ruined and would suit the stereotypical lifestyle of a student.
What areas of the idea could be developed?
The colour scheme and design of the border/ pattern
What do you find interesting about the idea?
How the meals are aimed to be quick and easy, which will definitely appeal to your target audience.

10. Idea 5
• Desserts.
Examples: Lemon tart or blueberry yoghurt cake.
These cards would be aimed at anyone who enjoys
cooking and baking desserts. This could be for a
range of ages and also for both genders so the
layout would have to be applicable to all.
I would use quite calm, warm colours that would be
die cut and then stuck onto a white card
background. I would like the title of the recipes to
be embossed and I would laminate the cards.
I would use photographs of the idealised dish.

How the card will be designed, I like the idea of die cutting then sticking.
What areas of the idea could be developed?
How to design the card so it appeals to the broad target audience.

How it will appeal to the target audience, and the finish of the card

12. Summary of Feedback
What do you agree with from your feedback?
I agree that I have some interesting ideas and that my ideas appeal to the specific
target audiences. Also, I agree that the borders and other aspects of the layout could
be adapted in certain places. I think that the fact that my feedback partner wrote
nothing in the ‘What areas could be developed?’ section then I think my strongest
idea is idea 2: foreign foods. I agree that there is not much to be developed with this
idea because it is very detailed because it interests me and I would like to do it.
What do you disagree with from your feedback?
I disagree that my feedback partner has stated that I needed to include details such as
font size at this stage, as these are just initial ideas. Once I choose an idea then I will
develop the finer details such as font and text size to adapt to the idea and also my
target audience.

13. Idea Evaluation
Which idea that you came up with is your favourite and why?
My favourite idea is the ‘Foreign foods’ idea. This is because I think that it is applicable
to a range of audiences and introduces an interesting way of vegetarian eating. I think
that I will be able to do a lot with the idea to make them interesting but yet make
them all individual and interesting. This idea will help vegetarians to experience all
kinds of food because some vegetarians think that they cannot eat curries because of
the meat in them, and some think that they cannot enjoy any authentic and original
food from a country because most will contain meat. I chose this one as my favourite
over my other ideas because it is unique and I don’t think that anyone else will have
thought of anything like that. I also think that this idea is very applicable to the brief
because it has a recognisable and unique layout and style, there is a clear theme and I
will add to the recipes how some of the meals can be made into vegan options.
