Content-Based and Immersion Models for ESL and EFL Language Teaching

  1. Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES) Traveling language teachers met with elementary school children for instruction in the FL. Focus on formal study of the FL and were often criticized for their failure to produce functional users of the FL. Teachers find points of coincidence with the standard school curriculum which can be paired with the objectives of the foreign language.
