The times * Use It’s + time to say what time it is. * You can ask what’s the time? or What time is it? * Use at + time to say when you do something.
* 7:00 It’s seven o’clock * 9:30 It’s half past nine * 1:45 It’s quarter to two * 4:20 It’s twenty past four * 8:35 It’s twenty- five to nine * 2:15 It’s quarter past two * 22:05 It’s five past ten * 17:50 It’s ten to six * 23:25 It’s twenty- five past eleven * 21:20 It’s twenty past nine * 14:40 It’s twenty to three Examples
* Use adverbs of frequency to answer the question How often…? * Adverbs of frequency go before all verbs (except be: adverbs following it) * Use an affirmative verb with never and hardly ever. Adverbs of frequency Always = siempre Usually = normalmente Often = a menudo Sometimes = algunas veces Hardlyever = casi nunca Never = nunca Hardlynever = nunca jamás Normally = normalmente Twice a week = dos veces a la semana One a month = una vez al mes Three times a year = tres veces al año Four times a week = cuatro veces a la semana Almost = casi siempre

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME IN: Use IN for: parts of day, months, seasons and years. Examples: in the morning In the afternoon In the evening In December In the summer In 1998
ON: Use ON for: days and dates. Examples: On Monday On Sunday On the 12th of July On my birthday
AT: Use AT for: times of day, midday, midnight, weekend and festival. Example: at three o’clock At midday / at midnight At lunchtime At night At the weekend At Christmas At Easter At New year

Adverbs of frequency Always = siempre Usually = normalmente Often = a menudo Sometimes = algunas veces Hardlyever = casi nunca Never = nunca Hardlynever = nunca jamás Normally = normalmente Twice a week = dos veces a la semana One a month = una vez al mes Three times a year = tres veces al año Four times a week = cuatro veces a la semana Almost = casi siempre
