During the September New York Fashion Week, OR Movement and Tahor Group are hosting a runway show and fundraiser showcasing a designer from the Negev, Matan Shaked. Including an exclusive creation by Aviad Arik Herman. Desert Flower Runway will be featured on the official NYFW calendar and tickets are available for purchase at http://www.desertflowerrunway.org. The event will bring new aspects of the region to New York, and will alter the perception of Israel through the lens of Beauty and Fashion. This event will provide an “out-of-the-box” perspective of OR Movement as an organization, reaching out to the younger influential population. We will inspire a movement among young adults, mobilizing them to be involved with the development and strategic planning of the future of Israel, and become a catalyst for a worldwide initiative. The event will be attended by approximately 300 people. It will start with a cocktail reception followed by a runway show. The evening will continue with a dessert reception and silent auction.

The building is situated in the middle of the Fifth Avenue retail corridor stretching
from 49th
Street to 59th
Street and is surrounded by some of the most prominent
luxury retailers and restaurants in the world. Immediately to the South is
Rockefeller Center.
The event will take place on an entire floor in the building.

4. Matan Shaked

ISRAEL'S FASHION WONDER BOY
At a very early age, Matan’s interest in fashion design started with
dressing Barbie Dolls and continued with his love of classical ballet.
Appreciating the exquisite costumes of the ballerinas and the
movement of a woman's body, Matan accepted the gift of his
grandmother's sewing machine and started to design a look of his very
own.
At age 17, Matan became the youngest student at the Shankar School
of Fashion Design. One of the top 10 most prestigious design schools
in the world today. Opening his own brand at age18 in the Negev, the
Southern region of Israel. Upon turning 21, he moved his fashion
house to the heart of Tel Aviv. There he began to specialize in couture
wedding and evening dresses. These days, one can find all the top TV
celebrities and socialites from all over the country being fitted in his
luxurious creations.
The world of high fashion is an inseparable part of Matan's life as the
youngest fashion designer in Israel. He has been quoted by Israeli
journalists as "the wonder boy of the fashion world.” His creative
journey started at the heart of the Negev Desert, to the big city Tel
Aviv, and continues with his debut during NYFW in New York, the
Fashion Capital of the world.

5. Aviad Arik Herman

Aviad Arik Herman (Israel/Sweden) is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary artist, having extensively designed special
costumes for dance, theatre & beauty pageants.
Studied Fashion Design at the Swedish Art College and participated as a finalist in Sweden’s annual contest for promising
designers. Featured in Uptempo Fashion Magazine, Vogue Italy, Malta Fashion Week, Tel Aviv Fashion Week & NYC Times
Square bill boards in a unique exhibit.
Herman designed for the National Dance Company of Spain, Ballet Nacional de Cuba, The Washington Ballet, BalletX, Whim
W’him, Dominican National Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, American Academy of Ballet, Israel Ballet, KAMEA Contemporary Dance
Company, Fresco Dance Company, Royal Swedish Ballet School, Cullberg Ballet, Ballet Mainz, Polish TV show “Must be the
Music”, and even for the world's most famous fashion icon - Barbie, in Mattel's original musical - "Barbie Live!”
Herman has been the chief designer for Miss Universe Sweden since 2013, and also designed for Miss Austria, Miss
Denmark & Miss Israel. His design for Miss Germany was nominated Top 5 Best Costumes at Miss Universe 2014 in Miami.
Awarded a silver medal for Best National Costume for Miss Sweden at Miss Earth 2016.
His recent design, "Jerusalem of Gold" for Israel’s Minister of Culture, Miri Regev at the Cannes Film Festival 2017 was
a sensation and highly covered by the press. Aviad is currently designing for the Musical 'Les Miserables' on Guam and
preparing a new sensation for Miss Universe 2017.
A special community artistic project is currently in the making. It is a powerful collaboration with the 'OR Movement', 'Desert
Embroidery' Association, Artist Eyal Assulin & Artist Maya Schapira - all from the Negev region in Israel.
This will result in a spectacular art-fashion piece, representing & embodying the very core values which the Negev stands for;
honoring the rich history, tradition, geography and heritage diversity, with the constant commitment to grow, develop and
build.
The dress will be revealed for the first time at New York Fashion week 2017.

6. OR Movement
As the center of Israel becomes increasingly overcrowded, the Negev and Galilee remain vastly under populated.
At OR Movement, we see these areas as the future of Israel, and home to immeasurable opportunities in all areas
of housing, industry, education, recreation and business.
For Israel’s 100th birthday in 2048, our mission is to bring the Negev and Galilee into the future of Israel as centers
for population in their own right as independent and thriving regions.
Established in 2002 OR Movement has been working to develop the Negev and Galilee to bloom into attractive
living options for Israel’s diversified population. To date, we’ve successfully established 9 new communities; revived
68 rural and urban communities that were seeing population decline or extinction. OR Movement guided 28 “Seed
Groups” of young pioneers to develop communities in need; built 84 community facility projects. In total we have
nearly 33,000 pioneers living in our new and renewed communities.
Since our beginning, we have been seeking to create a radical change in the way the world partners with Israel, to
develop the Negev and Galilee, and to see the potential in these areas. We have been working in places such as
New York, Miami, and London to bring a fresh new perspective on the future of Israel and the role of the next
generation.

7. Tahor Group
Tahor Group’s goals for our clients are to provide the skills and experience of a large

For the opening of New York Fashion Week in September 2014, the Tahor Group put on a
groundbreaking event that closed Central Park South. A "moving runway" of couture laden
models paraded in New York City’s famous horse and carriages. Our clients were Viktor
De Sousa and The Horse and Carriage Association. The collaboration received 92 million
media impressions. CNN praised the Tahor Group, saying we "staged a different kind of
runway celebrating everything New York”. The Tahor Group then went on to do another
event with the Horse and Carriages, titled “High Tea at the Stables”. The event was in
collaboration with Amazon and Viktor Luna and was covered by both the New York Times
and The Daily News.
The Tahor Group created the TLV RUNWAY NYC production which was endorsed by the
Consulate General of Israel. The event exposed the Israeli brand to it’s first NYFW. The
event at TAO exhibited the creativity and innovation of Israel's achievement in design with
Maya Negri and Nirit Dekel.
Our latest marketing plot was a love match between Inbal Dror and Madame Paulette. The
goal of the event was to introduce the talents of Israeli designers to NYFW and to increase
the footprint of Inbal Dror in the United States. The event, titled Happily Ever After, featured
The Real Housewives of New York star, Dorinda Medley, as host. The show showcased
one of Beyonce’s World Formation Tour ensembles. The Forward praised our event saying
it was "Not Your Average Peep Show".

8. New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week will draw 110,000 fashion insiders from around the world to the city's runways:
Designers and their models, celebrities, socialites, special guests, and the international press – Vogue, Elle, Marie
Claire, Glamour, InStyle, New York Times – and, most importantly, all of the important buyers and retailers –
Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue – who transform designs into commerce, will all be in
attendance.
Desert Flower Runway is being held on the opening night of New York Fashion Week and will draw on the world's
focus to highlight Israel’s designers and OR Movement’s mission. Our invite list will include the powerful fashion
players, influencers and philanthropists.
