STUDENT SELF-REFLECTION ON EVIDENCE FOR ELEMENT 1
Name: Elizabeth Castillo Date:
Title of work/product: Describe evaluation criteria used to
critically analyze the content of Web pages.
In this unit was about how to evaluate web sites and plagiarism. It
helps audiences to get true information and also present information. I learned
from this unit that useful webs sited have some command in the URL
direction as .com, .gov, .edu, and so on. Also, those pages have a lot of links
to provide if the information is true. Moreover, when you evaluate web sites
you should look for author address to look for his or her help or provide her
information. Also, I learned from this unit that we must site authors
when we copy information from books and web sites. In others
countries if you make plagiarism you will go to the jail. Therefore, I
learned to site web pages. People around the world believe that
plagiarism as copying another's work, or ideas can provokes
problems, so it is true if you do not site those ideas or texts you take,
you can get in trouble.
I included it because it provides what I know. Also, it provides that I
really worked in this unit content. On the other hand, “Describe evaluation
criteria used to critically analyze the content of Web pages.” Was the
objective from this unit, so it was developed by us. Next time, I would
research more about evaluating webs sites, and I would make some organizer
graphics in PPT to remember it.

English language learning and teaching.
This unit was about Bookmark free online journals and web sites to
develop the four language skills. I learned to use diigo to keep useful
web sites, So for that my teacher asked us to create a diido account
and we had to add 5 webs sites for each topic as writing, reading,
oral, listening, EFL teaching. As a result, I have in my diigo account
30 pages that I will use in the future teaching those subjects. I
include this piece because it provides my effort doing this kind of
jobs, also it is my evidence that I was in class participation. “Identify
and bookmark free online journals and Web sites about language
skills, grammar, functions, pronunciation and other linguistic and
methodological aspects of English language learning and teaching.
” It was the objective of this unit that we did. Next time, I would like
to add more web sites that will help me to improve my writing
because I am not good at writing, but I am good at using technology.

Title of work/product: Teaching the four language skills: listening,
speaking, reading and writing using web resources.
This unit includes writing, writing, reading, and listening
stages that teacher should know to develop in their students those
skills that are very important when you are learning a new language,
but the most important thing that called my attention was the writing
stages and the dyslexia problem that some students present, so
parents and teachers should take an special care of them. I include
this piece because it provides my effort doing this kind of jobs, also
it is my evidence that I was in class participation. “Develop
technology enhanced lesson plans using Internet resources to
promote authentic language learning and assessment of the EFL
learner’s communicative competence.” It was the objective of this
unit that we did. Next time, I would like to put in practice those
stages for each skill and also to research more about dyslexia
problems.

This unit tough to do a lesson plan. I learned that lesson
plan basic components are general information, lesson
objectives, materials, technology resources and web addresses,
alternative activity, adaptations for Special Learners,
instructional Procedures, assessment and homework I include
this video because it provides that I learned to do a lesson plan
and performance it. My lesson plans objective was doing based
on ABCD lesson objectives. “Develop technology enhanced

Blogs in Education
Name: Elizabeth Castillo
1. How would you define the term "blog"?
A blog is a free tool to students and people who would like to share information,
and facts. Besides, it allows to add videos, pictures, gifs, calendars, and so on, so
students can explain topics using blogs as an online tool. Therefore, students can
do writing homework and, receive feedback from other pupils.
2. What types of blogs have you heard about?
I have heard that there are three types of blogs. First, the tutor blog. It is for
professors who would like to create forum discussion, so pupils give comments.
Also, teachers being able to write to the main part. Besides, teacher will guide
online students to do homeworks. Second, the class blog. It allows students to
interact in a virtual class. Students can do collaboratives works. Also, it could use
as a free forum discussion of any topic in which students can add pictures, videos,
web pages addresses, and so on. So, it could be use as a virtual space to teach
writing and reading class. Finally, the learner blog, it is by individual learners or
small group of pupils who like to learn writing and reading subjects. Also, it can be
used to do journals for writing practice without spend a lot of paper and save our
planet to the global warming. In conclusion, those kinds of blogs are good to
develop a foreign language by writing and reading skills.
3. What is one example of how YOU would use blogs in your EFL classroom?
for this question you need to explain three things: the objective(s) of your
blog (use the ABCD Method), the students' level, and how you expect to
evaluate the effectiveness of your blog.
I would use to teach writing and reading skill in order to make my students
interact.
Objetive: Having studied vocabulary related animals, students of the five level of
Elementary School from 10 to 11 years old will be able to discuss about animals
around the world by writing some animals´ traits in an online activity. This objective
is not clear. Please check the information about the ABCD method to write lesson
objectives.
Students level: Elementary: 10 to 11 years old
First.- I would ask my students create a blog in this site
https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=blogger&passive=1209600&co
ntinue=http://www.blogger.com/home&followup=http://www.blogger.com/home<m

19
20. Second.- I would ask them to do a paragraph about animals features.
Next..- I would ask them to give some comments to their classmates
Finally.- I will ask them to add pictures, charts, videos to reinforce the previous
topic in the writing paragraph.
This assignment is not complete. How are you going to evaluate your
students’ participation in the blog.
You should also improve your language skills since there are very basic grammar
mistakes. Finally, you need to follow instructions. You had to write a title for this
document, but you haven’t done it.
Keep working hard!
